I work as a flight attendant and travel all over and love going to barbecue places in different states. This was by far the most disappointing especially for the price and serving size and cause I thought it would be worth the uber ride over. The pulled pork was pretty flavorless and the bird and brisket had both ends and non-ends and was not the good kind of dry. The beans are thick dark, I dont even know how to explain it, mess but did have ok flavor. The people were nice though which is why I gave it a two.

Great Unexpected BBQ. I decided to go here the night before I flew out of MCI. I wasn’t expecting great but was expecting okay – it was GREAT!! I had stopped by BB’s Lawnside BBQ the week prior when I flew in and was severely disappointed so happening upon Smokebox BBQ was fantastic. I really wanted good BBQ while visiting and got it here. It is a very interesting and unassuming place. Beeris seeved in a plastic cup and other drinks served in styrofoam cups. Meal is served on plastic plates with plastic forks. Don’t let this dissuade you, itis just fine – it is BBQ. The BBQ meat, whatever you choose, is smoked, sauced, and delicious. Only dissapointment was I felt there should have been more jalapeno poppers in the order, I think we only got 6-8. Regardless, the service is excellent, atmosphere simple, and food great. If you want truly great BBQ you MUST eat here.
Stopped in on a long layover in Kansas City, and figured I had better have some BBQ. Found this place on Yelp, and was NOT disappointed! Great sauce on pulled pork and cheesy corn! YUM!

Chicken AND ribs on the same platter. An alien concept to almost all other B.B.Q. joints around here
