Best in town. I don’t care where you live the drive to Martin City for shaved ice is well worth it. They are generous with their flavors, with fast and friendly service. Can’t recommend it enough!
Best in the Area!. Hidden away in Martin City in a tiny little box comes the best shave ice in the Kansas City area. Great prices, friendly service, wonderful surroundings, and THE BEST SHAVED ICE you’ll ever have. Go ahead and try some of the other local snow cone/shaved ice places, none compare to this Tropical Sno stand. Some other places make you pay extra for multiple flavors, here you can choose up to three to top your soft ice. Which means they don’t pre-bottle any of their famous recipes. When you order Mango and Pineapple, they pour each one separately and swirl it together, so you’re really getting bursts of different flavors. Plus, the ice: I don’t know what they do to get it so soft, but its unreal and the flavors just absorb into it. GO NOW! They close in October for the season, I know I’ll be banging down there door when they re-open in Spring.

Ice-y Cravings!. I made my first visit here this week and have been craving this tasty treat ever since! The flavors are amazing (not that sticky sweet stuff you find at other places) and the ice is great! I would write more about it, but I think it’ is time to get in the care and drive to south Kansas City!
Tropical Sno KC is across Holmes from the Martin City Jack Stack. Seth Golay, Kansas City musical theater actor, is the proprietor. The stand sells only one product: Shaved ice, but, oh, the variety available! Literally dozens of syrup flavors are on hand, and Seth has no problem combining them in ways you want. The stand is clean, scrupulously so. Seth and his partner look like they are in it for the long haul. They hope business is good enough to expand to Waldo and eventually the Nortland. For a throwback dessert treat on a hot summer’s night, you cannot go wrong with Tropical Sno KC
