Definitely one of the better southern themed restaurants in the Midwest. The only downside to this place is probably the lighting and the hotspots right above corner tables. Please get some ventilation in here and people like me who tend to sweat quite a bit will be ever grateful!8/10 would recommend. 8/10 would revisit.
Just tried this place last weekend and definitely was not disappointed! I ordered ribeye and it was one of the best I had ever tasted. Great appetizers! Also the desserts were delicious!
EXCELLENT!. I was visiting St Louis from Dallas, and I stopped in here looking for a good steak after having a very bad steak at another restaurant the night before. The steak (a 12 oz ribeye) was EXCELLENT, as were the au gratin potatoes and the apple/caramel dessert. Service was also pretty good. I highly recommend Eleven Eleven Mississippi for anyone that is a steak lover.
Not accommodating at all!!. I have now had two bad experiences with Eleven Eleven Mississippi. The first time my husband and I went there, the meal and the service were fine, but afterwards when we went to get our car, the valet had lost the key!! My husband has an electric car and did not have a spare because they cost $500 for a spare. They sent us home in a cab and my husband and father had to go back out there to try and find the key. Eventually the key was found. I had not attempted to go back for a few years. Then, we finally made a reservation via Open Table for this upcoming Valentine’s Weekend. I made a reservation for 6 and then found out that one of the couple’s we were planning to go with had a family crisis. Our reservation is in two days and, again, it’s a holiday weekend. When I told Eleven Eleven Mississippi that we were switching from 6 people to 4 they said they could no longer accommodate the reservation and we would have to change to 6:00 or 9:00 for our reservation. I have a babysitter lined up and cannot make that work. They were unwilling to let us keep our table of 6 that we reserved a while ago and it is too late to get reservations anywhere else that we would like to go. In my opinion this is no way to do business, especially in a small city like St. Louis that relies on repeat customers and solid reputations. We will not be going to Eleven Eleven Mississippi again and will recommend that our friends do not as well.
Not very impressed!. This was my first visit to 1111 Mississippi. I was really looking forward to it. The three other people with me had been here multiple times. The atmosphere is great and our service was fine. Our appetizers of crab cake and artichoke bottoms were tasty and well received by all. I had the striped bass special and while the fish itself was fine the accouterments of cauliflower and I am not sure what it was, were not very tasty and ruined the dish. Two of the people with me had the petite fillets what were really tough to chew.Our fourth had a flat-bread that was just okay. I really expected better! Maybe just a bad night in the kitchen.
Interesting Dining Experience!. The Wait Staff knows the dishes and the wine list – so I’m impressed already. Wild Board Ravioli is a must try. Beet Salad was fantastic. Was not such a fan of the Chicken Confit Pasta. Great and extensive wine list. Only complaint – Restaurant was a tad dark – hard to read the menu. Look forward to going back my next visit to STL.
Got quite a few mussels for an appetizer. Real tasty!!25 Jun, 2014Great meal, great service. Had to wait for a table on a busy Saturday nite, but it was worth it. When Emad the taxi driver sez everyone goes there, it must be good – and it was!! Want to go back again!
