Overpriced Retro. This place has potential but the menu prices are simply not in line with ambiance and food quality. The location is great but the view of the lake is obstructed by overgrown trees and a ridiculous pool. The decor is 35+ years old and the seating felt very overcrowded. Our service was great and we felt she was honest about some of the menu items. Bottom line, if you’re going to charge $50 for a steak or sea bass entre the quality needs to be closer in line with Capitol Grill not Chili’s.
Fine dining away from a major city. We have traveled to 5 continents and many foreign cities, and 44 of the 50 states. Our favorite restaurant anywhere is The Blue Heron at Lake Ozark, MO. The deep fried lobster is a must. To be fair we cant comment on the rest of the menu because the lobster is so exceptional that we wont pass up the opportunity to feast on it. They dont offer a childrens menu so dont expect an Applebys atmosphere. This is fine dining, great service and beautiful lake views, without the necessities of coats and ties11 Jul, 2013Fine Dining. Big Disappointment. In this price range you would expect everything to be perfect. The entrie was good, but all the side dishes of our party of four were luke warm. Had been waiting several seasons to have a chance to go, but what a disappointment.
Paradise on Lake Ozark. Go early evening to watch the boat activity slowing on the lake. As the sun sets, the boats turn on their running lights. Have cocktails overlooking the water, but prepare for some really great menu items – this is not a chain restaurant – the chef will listen to requests – but I think you’ll adore the menu just as it is offered. Return to the patio poolside to view the beauty of the lake after dark.
