Very friendly owners and staff. We were wandering around after a concert at the Fox theatre. Being from out of town we didn’t know where anything was. Even though they were closed they had us come in and have a few drinks and even offered to make some pizzas. Good people, would definitely stop in next time we are in town during normal business hours!
Horrible ! Gave this place second chance after first dissapointment one year ago, before going to symphony … Bad food, bad quality !
Not great, not awful. Slow, indifferent service. Margherita pizza w little flavor, like they forgot to put salt in the dough.
Part 2- had the Penne Pesto with shrimp. While the pasta and pesto were good, the shrimp was overdone. Even my bottled beer was warm. Waitress Patrice vanished. Not worth the price.
Lunch 3/22/13-awful. This was our 2nd lunch at Vito’s and chose it because our first visit was so good…Apparently they are focused on people who want the salad & pizza bar.We ordered off the menu. The Turkey. bacon & Avocado , was all bread and the Avocado was put on the bread with an eye dropper. No condiment offered & I had to go to the back and get them my self. Rolls were COLD & hard, Seafood ravioli came with 4 very small ravioli’s with chees and phony seafood…This will be our last visit to this rest. There are to many choices in the area to waste time & money here…..Seriously it was lunch, I’d hate to see what dinner is like.
Reliable pre-theater dining. Vito’s offers pleasant service and typical good St. Louis fare. They get you in and out based on your time frame for the Fox or the Symphony. One negative is the gelato dessert. It’s served in a small plastic cup and isn’t that good. Ours had ice crystals throughout that detracted from the character of gelato; smooth texture.
Not so good. We were on the way to the Fox and stopped in to Vito’s for something to eat. We had never been there and a reservation was standard for a Saturday night. They let us have two seats at the bar to get served there. The bartender completely ignored us. We had to wave our hands around after sitting for a while to ask him for a drink and menus. We didn’t have much time and stayed simple on the menu. We both had a salad to start, which was good but we weren’t even offered bread. Almost done with my salad and I had to ask for it. My eggplant entree was on the appetizer menu and was just enough size I was looking for, but didn’t have much flavor. My date ordered the calzone, which was a good size, but digging in to it, the entire bottom was burnt, like REALLY burnt. We had to continually grab someone to get us more tea, and if we were ever actually ASKED how things were, we would have mentioned the burnt calzone. Maybe if you are in a reserved seating area you actually get a good watier, but our service was TERRIBLE.
