Stopped in for lunch and had the Pear Blue Cheese salad, I was very happy I chose this salad it was great. It was lunchtime and slow, but will come back for Happy Hour soon.
I want to love this place and do love the lively atmosphere and location in The Streets of St Charles. I have two specific things I do NOT love. The meat in my burger tasted bad, inedible almost. The other thing is the trio of chips and dip. The tortilla chips consistently don’t taste fresh and, in fact, aren’t as good as some supermarket chips. Both of these items, chips and burger, are bar basics so please work on this.
I am trying not to get into Franchise restaurants anymore, but we stopped at this one, and the food was good. They offer free valet parking, which I liked, just hope out and they park your car for you, that is a good way to make a positive impression. When you come in, you seat yourself. You can immediately tell this place wants to be more of an upscale bar. All they need is their own personality and not the franchise one, I can see them really being good, but nonetheless, the food and drinks are good now. After you seat yourself a waitress will come to your table for the food and drink orders, the service is not fast, but the good places it never is, they are designed for good not fast!I had the BRUSCHETTA POMODORO with shrimp tomato, basil, garlic, olive oil, parmesan crostinis and shrimp. This dish was really good and refreshing, I like it for a great appetizer as it was!I had the chicken pot pie soup, which I think is on the menu for a short time. It was delicious and very different than a pot pie, I really enjoyed the savory, umami flavor of this soup.I had the salmon sliders with applewood smoked bacon, lettuce and ginger mayo, on a mutli-grain bun. very delicious with a sweet, savory bang in my mouth.I finished that off with the Voodoo plate which is blackened chicken, andouille sausage, bell pepper, voodoo sauce, rice pilaf, it had a very light spice kick with a delicious umami flavor that was outstanding. I can tell these dishes may be in a franchise, but they were created by a Chef who knows what he is doing.I know, I will go there again!
We went last night at 6pm (seven of us total) which was my first, and last, visit. Took forever to get drinks, then when the food finally came out, they only brought three of seven (one of which was incorrect). Almost five minutes after that, two more plates came out. The last person didn’t receive his food until a member of our party found a manager and complained. Apparently the kitchen just forgot to make it. He received his meal after we were all finished eating. The server was nice and the manager comped the forgotten meal. I think the server had too many tables at once. The food was mediocre and expensive. I had the Bruchetta Pomodoro, which was pretty good. I won’t be back.
Food is ok, great service but music is WAY TOO LOUD! Hard to talk to people right beside you.
