When it’s good, it’s great! But crooked tree is very hit or miss. If it’s busy at all (aka the main lot is full), I’d just stay away. From the wrong to cold (when it’s supposed to be warm) food to super slow service, especially getting your drink, it’s just not worth it if it’s even remotely busy. When it’s not busy, the French toast is my personal favorite.
Am local and eat here often for breakfast. Love the scones and coffee. Relaxed atmosphere and great service. Locally owned.
What happened??. I’ve been here a few times after runs in St. Charles, but today was my last visit. In the past, bfast food and coffee have been great – but today, the food was not good. Ordered scrambled eggs and received nursing home-type delivery of scooped up fake eggs. Totally un-appetizing. Informed waitress and she took plate back. Brought me another plate with the exact same things. Upon further investigation, I discovered they don’t even have frying pan in the kitchen. They microwave these fake eggs! How hard is it to just scramble real eggs?? And the fruit coming with bfast is straight from a can of mixed fruit in syrup. Really disappointed. Anytime a place switches from fresh food to cans, it’s going downhill in my opinion. Sorry to say, I won’t be back.
I thought this place was a fantastic gem. The price, service, and food were all top notch! I enjoyed a coffee, croissant sandwich and fruit smoothie this morning. I will definitely be coming back here to try the crepes next time I am in St.Louis area!!!!
Nice little coffeehouse. Nice little local coffeehouse, without the slick feel of Starbucks. A bit pricey, but still good.
Good but pricey for what you get.. We really enjoy the big kid grilled cheese…but for $7.95 find it a bit pricey. Will only go if looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee/tea.
Amazing breakfast sandwich with veggies and cheese. Made hot to order. Coffee was tasty also. I will go back to this charming coffee house again.
