I am so happy that St. Charles has a good BBQ place. I was shopping down on Main Street and found this place. It is cute a cool restaurant. The decor is amazing. They have a great selection. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. I will defiantly be back to try other items on the menu they all looked so good.
Since the weather was unseasonably beautiful yesterday, my girlfriend and I went for a bike ride on the Katy Trail. Time got away from us and we started to get hungry. I remembered seeing something on Facebook about Hendricks BBQ a few weeks ago and checked the address. We were only a few minutes away and the Katy Trail actually runs right behind their parking lot. Since they have a large patio and the weather was all sunshine, we requited seat outside. We started with Smoked Sangria and BBQ Nachos both did not disappoint. I have never had baked beans on Nachos but the subtle hint of sweetness was unlike anything I had ever tasted. I ordered Chicken in a Biscuit, which our server recommended as it is a signature item and my girlfriend got the BBQ Cobb Salad and added some pork. Everything was delicious and if we hadnt been on our bikes, I would have got the rest of my Mac and Cheese to go. Our server was friendly, attentive and made excellent recommendations for us to try since we were newbies. As avid bike riders, I think we have found our Sunday Sunday spot.
Nice atmosphere, cute decor, but nothing special about the food itself. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. Too expensive for what you get.
Take-out. I decided on take-out and a small portion since it was my first time there. I was lucky I ordered the small portion of pull pork. BBQ sauce was watery It was cold. Baked potatoe looked nice but too was cold. They provided no napkins, fork or spoon. Need to train employees on food service basics. Walk in and it looks and smell is great, lipstick on a pig only. I had to double check my map to see if I was in St. Louis. Chicago Lou
Pulled pork was very good though more expensive than comparable places. Service was quick and friendly. Outside seating in the back would be nice in warm weather.
Overpriced. For $25 we got a few ounces each of turkey (dry), pulled pork (not bad), and sausage (very good), a handful of fries and a couple tablespoons! of creamed spinach! No bread…Our plate would’ve costs half as much at Bandanas…skip this place unless the company’s buying.
It is good and worth a try. I’ve gone there several times and have always been pleased. They have typical (not in a bad way) barbeque fare that is well prepared along with a good selection of craft beers and good service. I read the reviews and was concerned about trying it but ended up being pleasantly surprised. I thought the portions were fine and I am a good eater. The sandwiches also come with a side. Some dinner entrees, the sides are alacarte which I don’t care for. They have a nice elevated patio area which is great when weather permits.
