Rotten Fish. I came here for dinner tonite with some friends; one of which had never been and my boyfriend who had been once before. We always come to this establishement because we loved the food and the atmosphere. I went here for my birthday one year with a large group and had a good experience. This particular night my friend ordered a couple rolls and about 4 different sushi all of which she’d had before and liked. After consuming most of them she ate a sushi, not exactly sure which, she immediately spit it into a napkin. She said it tasted rotten and started to gag. Neither of us have ever experienced rotten fish here. She called the waitress over to let her know and she pulled the manager over. She explained to him how many times she’d had this same fish and this particular one for some reason was just bad. After arguing for a minute about it he agreed to taking 50% off of her meal. We all heard it clearly. The waitress comes back with the check and they only took off 15%. He came back to the table and argued about the amount that he agreed was 15% not 50%. $3 off of a $20 meal that she could not even finish or enjoy was just a complete slap in that the face for one. Then I could not believe what I heard come out of this man’s mouth… he called her a moron under his breath and started to walk away. She heard him..we all heard him.. he argued that he didn’t call her anything. Then he tells her he would appreciate it if we didn’t come back. In complete shock at what we all just witnessed, we were appalled and asked to speak to the owner. A woman came out who then just made matters worse and said that the manager wouldn’t said anything like that. Plus, she asked why would she be the only person in the whole restaurant that complained about rotten tasting food. She said why would we serve just you rotten food like she was lying about it. Then says you just didn’t want to pay for your food. Again, this was all my friend and I sat at the table witnessing everything and I was so humiliated that the manager and owner spoke to my friend that way. That was absolutely THE worst service I have ever seen in my whole life. The actual waitress was fine. She had nothing to do with it and did her best to help the situation. The management of this business is absolutely disgusting. This is not the way you should treat your customers. I will never go to a sushi ai again and I will be sure to tell all of my friends and family to not eat here either.

Add to the fact that it’s only $11.99 for lunch and $17.99 for dinner, fuggedaboutit! I’ve always received great service, smiles etc. Best sushi I have had in the St.Louis/St.Charles area.
