Worse than disappointing. Just about everything went wrong. Long wait to order, pizza came and we hadn’t gotten our salads yet. One person in the party ordered the tilapia. It arrived when everyone was finished with the pizza, and it was barely edible. Another person asked for a soda refill, and the waiter didn’t bring it back.
Great deep dish pizza and salad. We tried Ami’s a few months back and have come back 3 times. Good food. Good service. Nice family atmosphere.
Excellent experience all around. We came here for the first time an hour before closing. our server, matt, showed us what service is all about. the food was outstanding and service was far better than we could expect. I will also mention the willingness to customize the food orders to what we requested and everything turned out great. will definitely return back again!Thanks! Andy

Awesome Deep Dish; Lousy Service. If you love Chicago style deep dish pizza, A’mis is the ONLY place to get it in the St. Louis area. That pizza is amazing and totally worth the visit there. The New York style is okay, but a little on the bland side.It’s a good thing their deep dish pizza is so amazing because that’s the only thing that will keep me coming back there. Each time I’ve visited, the service has been horrible. The wait staff always seem crabby and too busy to be bothered with you. I go on my work lunch hour and end up taking an hour and half because they are slow to take your order, slow to bring out the tickets, and even slower to get your money taken. We call in our order ahead of time and dine in and that helps…some. Still have to be served by the surly waitress for our drinks and the long delay at pay time. Good luck to all of you – but you MUST try their deep dish pizza. 🙂
Loved it!. Met up with a friend for lunch. This was the first visit to Ami’s. We went on recommendation from someone else. I like all kinds of pizza, I eat what I’m in the mood for and Ami’s covered all the bases having St. Louis style, New York style and Chicago style deep dish. I went for the Deluxe (subbing green peppers for black olives) St. Louis style. It has both provel and mozzarella. The crust was wonderful! Not to dry, not chewy, just the right kind of flaky, crisp. The cheeses were perfect together. I like my sauce a little more spicy but theirs was still very tasty and allowed me to taste all the goodies I had on my pizza. I also chose a small salad with house dressing, which is a tangy but not too sweet Italian. It had provel cheese, sliced tomatoes, and crispy, crunchy croutons with a single black olive. It was the perfect accompanist to my pizza. There were couples, business men and construction workers in the room around us. Apparently it appeals to all kinds of folks!I most assuredly will be going back. There are a few other things I’d like to try like their eggplant parmigiana, toasted zucchini, and their pasta con broccoli.
