Best coffee!. Delightful cup of coffee with homemade vanilla syrup that is light and fresh and not syrupy sweet. May be the best cup of coffee I’ve had. And great, helpful service.
Croissants are really good. Handmade, buttery, flaky, luscious. Worth getting up early to make sure you get one. Coffee made fresh for you is a treat. Good decaf, which is sometimes hard to find.
Outstanding wonderful pastry, great coffee. Unparalleled service.
Hands down the best coffee in saint Louis! Went there this afternoon and downed way too much caffeine. I’ve never had espresso as rich as I had it there. Also, amazing quiche and cookies. The chocolate croissants are awesome!
The perfect Cappuccino. St. Louis has never lead the pack with gourmet restaurants, superior supermarkets and the like. Over the past 26 years that I have lived here things have gotten better. Sons and daughters old line restaurateurs have returned from culinary school and have been able to bring their new skills to a fading scene and Whole Foods have made their mark. Now the coffee gurus are here and Comet is just one of three or four up and comers. Add homemade quiches and pastries and you have a real winner. Service is friendly and, when asked, informative about their processes, coffees and equipment. I hope that they this is just the beginning. Jules Brown is running a good ship.
Welcome to Comet Coffee. I have known Mark, Steph, and Hannah for a couple years now, and when I learned that they were going to open their own coffee shop, I knew it would be something special. The first time I met Mark, he was so passionate about coffee and intent on showing off his vac-pot that he had snuck into his place of employment at the time. As a fellow coffee geek, I was excited to know that interest would transfer into the business he hoped to create.Comet Coffee was born of this passion and fascination and love for coffee. It’s a third wave shop that hopes only to give its customers the best cup of coffee and experience it can. It’s a learning process, for both consumer and barista, and it’s an exhilarating journey. To see the person behind the counter geek out because of how clean a pour-over (V60) turned out, or to see him relentlessly pulling shot after shot to get it as close to perfect as possible, or to smell and taste one of the baked goods made fresh in-house? This is what makes Comet such a wonderful, up and coming shop.If you are interested in delicious pastries, fantastic company, and supporting a new, vibrant, independent shop, stop by and see what you think. You won’t be disappointed. If you are already well-versed in coffee, go for the Ethiopian Ardi by MadCap with its delicious notes of chocolate and strawberry–really, with the roasters highlighted on the ever-changing coffee menu, you can’t go wrong. If you’re looking more for espresso, have them whip up a traditional cappuccino, and if you’re more inclined for something a little sweeter, any drink with the homemade vanilla or homemade caramel syrups will surely blow you away.
Owner Review. Open Monday-Friday, 6:30am-6pm, Saturday 7:30am-6pm and Sunday 8am-2pm. We specialize in fresh, homemade pastries and artisan coffee. For coffee, we will always carry several offerings from Intelligentsia, as well as a guest roaster espresso and single origin coffee. When we can budget it in, we’ll be adding a 4th hopper for single origin shots. Expect to see the following roasters at some point in next year:George Howell TerroirMadCapHandsomeFour BarrelRitualCounter CultureBlue BottleStumptown (maybe, we’re a bit small for them)
