Best Wedding Cake Ever. Not sure how people can not like this place. We tried several wedding cakes and Sugaree blew them all out of the water…by far. Not even close. We had nothing but great comments at our wedding and several people took extra pieces home with them. The owner is certainly a character but is anything but rude. The pies are also amazing. This is one of those rare places that takes great pride in what they do. Hands-down, the best. Also, the day we had our tasting, Albert Pujols was just leaving after buying some delicious desserts for his family. He held the door open for us!
Owner should not answer phone. Heard this was a great bakery from friends and called to order a cake for a tasting for a wedding cake. Unfortunately the owner answered the phone. She was rude and argumentative and told me I didn’t want what I wanted. And told me not to order a wedding cake like I wanted. I told her I could always take my business to another company and she proceeded to yell she was busy and have to see if she had time for my wedding. Thought it was funny cause all I wanted to do was order a cake for tasting not the actual wedding cake! I finally decided working with someone like this on a day that is to be special would not be a good idea. Who needs mean people in your life on any level. The phone call only lasted about five minutes. I would tell anyone looking to work with a bakery not to go there. I would highly recommend Sarah’s Cake Shop, http://sarahscafestl.com/. They are unbelievably good at what they do and are a great to work with! No matter who answers the phone. Sarah Cake Shop is the place to go!
Poor business owner. Very poor business owner. When I called for a cake tasting for my wedding was told by owner they did not have time to see me in the next couple of months. Come in and pay $10.00 go home and try the cake. If I like the cake then make an another appointment to come back. When called to cancel she was again rude and said she had too many brides to be personal. Suggest the cakery down the street.
