Like the restaurant but have a complaint.. I like the Chevy’s on Tesson Ferry Road. The food is tasty and the host and servers are pleasant. However, I dislike when a server reaches in front of one diner’s face to place a plate in front of another. If they happen to read these comments, the servers have to realize such things influence the tips.
Normally love Chevy’s, quality and consistency for a franchise is great. The one on Tesson Ferry and 270, will never go back and would not recommend! The portion size is about half then other Chevy’s, the quality and consistency of food was not at this location at all and the service was bad. It wasn’t just our server that had a frown and moved at a snails pace.
Bottom Line: you can do better good wise
Wow. I don’t know what Chevy’s has done in the 3 months since I last ate their food, but it is not a step in the right direction. I love Chevy’s food and have for at least 10 years. It has been my favorite chain restaurant forever. This is not the Chevy’s I love. The salsa used to be my favorite thing. Now, the recipe is different and not nearly as good. Not bad but not great. The chips are obviously not freshly made anymore and are bland, under-salted and not yummy. The biggest disappointment of my evening, however, was the quesadilla. Over the years, there have been 3 or 4 different incarnations of the quesadilla I enjoy. First it was the chicken quesadilla. Delicious. Then it was chicken and something else. Still delicious. Then I started on the farmer’s market quesadilla. Also delicious. Whatever I had tonite was awful. San Antonio chicken quesadilla is what it was called, but it should have been called Fire in Your Mouth quesadilla. Way too spicy. Not yummy. Even my husband who loves spicy food agreed that the heat level was overpowering. One bite and your palette was overwhelmed. I know it’s Chevy’s, not gourmet Mexican, but this food was not their usual. I am really hoping they get enough complaints and being back the good stuff! Oh! The fried ice cream was still pretty good. I’m glad they decided to leave that recipe alone.
I like this place.. But some of the food is a little overpriced compared to other places you could go
Love it!. I loved Chevy’s when I had one locally (Called Rio Bravo here) and a good friend pointed out that I could have the taste I missed for only a four hour drive! I am not in St. Louis that often, but we always stop at a Chevy’s for great salsa and fresh fluffy tortillas for my fajitas. They are not the fanciest place you will find and it is chain restaurant food, but they do something right and I love them for it.
Good Mexican Food. I really like Chevys at this location. It is new, clean and the service is pretty fast. I love the salad and the chips and salsa. I highly recommend this for Mexican food!
