Several years ago initially tried this restaurant with a birthday coupon received through postal mail from a St. Charles, MO coupon company. Had been told by another waitress that thisrestaurantpurchased Case and Bucks inJefferson County and they were serving the same menu food. Thislocation manager accepted the coupon and the food was good at this St. Louis County location. Started going there occasionally. Noticed they had specials and the food continued to be good. More coupons were sent by postal mail. Who appeared to be the manager would stareat the restaurant customers and thought this strange. Each time the waiters and waitresses would push alcohol, but would go ahead and takeno alcoholbeverage orders. Eventually male waitersstarted taking someorders. One was very rude with tattoos and said you need to drink alcohol, butaccepted the food and noalcohol beverage order.Their bar is separate from their restaurant. He brought the changefor the food and no alcohol beverage order and as I was going to tip he grabbed a $5.00 from me and said I am going to keep this formy tip. Did notreturn for a looong time. Several years later decided to give it another try because of the good food andbeing locatedcloser than the other restaurant. The waiter was rude and when they brought my no alcohol drink it had a dead fly in it. I argued with the waiter, but it did no good. Neverreturned to this place since that gross experience. They did have a sign up for a while indicating that they are moving, but are still open at this location. There was a sign for this restaurant or maybe a second location on the former building location of the Old Country Buffet?
I am surprised the health department hasn’t shut this restaurant down (if you want to call it a restaurant!)Today we sat at a table that was not cleaned properly. There was food all over the table and seats. When we let the waitress know, she stated that she must have seated us at the wrong table. She did not offer to move us to a clean table or to clean the one which we were seated at.Then I ordered a glass of tea and noticed that it was from a dirty cup with dried ketchup on the outside. Our waitress, when notified of this, asked us if the ketchup was on the cup before it was brought to the table, insinuating that I put DRIED ketchup on the outside of my glass. When the food arived, the side of mac and cheese that was ordered tasted like eating a box of macaroni and powdered cheese.Every time we try to give Crusoe’s a chance they manage to provide worse conditions than any previous visit. This restaurant used to be a place I enjoyed taking my family to, but at this point it is a stain on the Oakville restaurant community. In addition, the bar, Croc’s, which is connected to and associated with Crusoe’s is generally filthy and the entryway smells of urine. Again, I can not believe that the health department allows this place to continue serving the community. If you don’t believe me, I’m not even sure that I would suggest going to see for yourself. You WILL be dissatisfied, disappointed and likely disgusted, and who wants to spend their hard earned money at a place that’s going to make you feel sick?
Do NOT eat at Crusoes on Telegraph! The owner obviously has too much money and cares NOTHING about you or anybody else that comes in. About a month ago I was planning a surprise party for my moms 60th birthday. With it being wedding season, most all banquet halls or party facilities were booked WAY in advance. I remembered that I had been to Crusoes years ago and that they had party rooms and decent food. I decided to give them a try.The day I called I spoke to a man named Wayne. He first put me on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up and called back, when he answered I told him that I had been on hold for 15 minutes waiting to check availability for a party room and his rude response was Yeah and what date?! While giving him details on how many people I expected and what time slot I would likeI was hung up on. I called a third time, and was once again given no sorry I hung up on youNOTHING! He told me that they did in fact have a room available for that time slot that would fit 45 people and that a woman (no name) would call me by the end of the week to get my deposit and my food order. That woman never called.I called back on Monday and spoke to very nice gentleman named Adam. He confirmed that I was in fact on the schedule and apologized for the delay. He once again told me that this mysterious woman would be calling me today or tomorrow to collect my deposit and get my food order. That woman never called.I call back on Thursday. Again I get Adam. He once again apologizes and assures me that everything is good to go and that I WILL be contacted by someone by tomorrow.Someone never called.I call again the next week and am asked by the guy on the phone if I could come in to the restaurant to pay my deposit and make my food choices. At this point I have 45 people coming and will do whatever it takes to get things done. I go in at lunch time that same day and tell the woman at the counter that I am there to pay my deposit and make my food selections. She finds my party on their schedule (which is nothing more than a wrinkled piece of notebook paper) and she takes my food order. The total for my food was just over $680. She then takes my debit card and charges my deposit. Before walking out the door I think Id like to see the exact room our party will be in so that I can make sure I have enough decorations. She tells me no problem. She THEN looks more closely at the schedule and says Ohwe dont have a room for you! I guess she could see my face turn red and my blood start to boil so she said she would go get somebody. The woman that came to assist me FIFTEEN minutes later (when there were only 2 people eating in the entire restaurant) said she was so very sorry and that she would figure something out. After looking at the schedule more closely she tells me that the party in the big room is only 25 people and she can easily move them to the smaller room that is available. She tells me that she will call that party and confirm that they were ok with it and PROMISED me that she would call back THAT DAY! She never called. The next morning I called and asked for her. When she got on the phone she said Oh yeah youre the lady that was here yesterday. Well the owner told me that I cant move that other party, so I dont know what you want me to tell you. I asked if I could speak to the owner and she assured me that he would call as soon as he gets in at 5 tonight. He never called. At 8:45 that evening I called the restaurant and asked for the owner. They transferred the call and he answered the phone Yeah?. I started with Hello sir my name is..I had a room booked for a surprise party this Saturday He cuts me off mid sentence and says Yeah look I heard your story. Wayne should have never taken that party. We were already booked. Things happen! Youre making a big deal over nothing. I told him that it WAS in fact a big deal. I had called MULTIPLE times to confirm with several people and that invitations went out and over 40 people are coming. He said Look, your party got cancelled. What do you want to hear? Somehow I remained calm as I told him that as a business owner I would think you would like to know how your employees handled this entire situation. I was having a nice sized party that would have been a good money maker for you. Now you will NEVER get mine, nor my friends or familys business ever again. He interrupted me and said Money maker??? Maam! Are you kidding me? On a Saturday night, youre little partyis nothing more than in my way. Im done with this. And he hung up on me. He left me high and dry 6 days before her party. He could not have possibly been more arrogant, and careless. I can only hope that he soon finds his customers disappearing and his tables empty. There are too many wonderful places to eat and he does not deserve your money! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
Had the fried chicken, bland and dry! The food at crusoes has to try to be average.
Had the fried chicken dinner & have to say, Awesome! Also tasted the Mondego Chicken Pizza, Really good. The service, very friendly & efficient. I will be visiting again.
Nice for a small party. I was here for a private party/wedding rehearsal dinner, for which they had a separate small dining room. Instead of ordering off the menu they set up a service table with roast beef, chicken mudega, green beans, twice baked potatoes, pasta con brocolli and salad. Everything was nicely done, hot and good and the service was excellent. I think everyone in our group really enjoyed it.
Adding to my review. I really like feed the crew. It comes with wings toasted ravoli, and salad. Good for 3-5 people. Yummy03 Sep, 2010Like it alot. Great pizza
