Meshuggah is Meshuggah. Cheap coffee that tastes a million times better than Starbucks ever will. Unique flavors, educated staff.
Best coffee in stl. A lot of people will vouch for other cafes in a city where there is no shortage of good coffee. However, this rustic coffeehouse is routinely re-decorated with new local artist pieces. The coffee is always an americano and is always served fresh one cup at a time. The food is only here for sustenance, but then again, if you’re looking for food then go to a restaurant. Oh, and if you bring an electronic device, there is no shortage of wall outlets.
We thought the food was very tasty. Both of us had the Dogtown sandwich. I had the house coffee and it was great. My only complaint is that’s is a little pricey for what you get. Two sandwichs, a handful of tortilla chips, a coffee, and a lemonade was 20 bucks
Great coffee but…service is often slow, staff more interested in chatting and horseplay rather than making the coffee. Bagels are tasty, when not burned and blackened and they are a bit stingy with the cream cheese! Service seems especially slow if you aren’t a regular as I noticed some walking in behind me getting a friendly greeting and hot coffee with a smile while I waited and waited. Perhaps the politically left leaning staff somehow sensed my contradictory conservative beliefs and that is the reason I got snubbed! Whatever the reason there are plenty of good coffee shops, better even, in town and I would suggest going elsewhere.
COFFEE – yah!. Stopped in for coffee after dinner on the Loop this evening. Unfortunately didn’t have time to sit there and drink, so got an Americano with cream, no sugar, to go. Frothy on the edges, rich, smooth, dark, HOT, beautiful coffee! I couldn’t stop talking about it on the way home. I didn’t even feel the urge to grab some chocolate or something sweet with my coffee – it was that good, all on its own. Drove down the street right past a crowded Starbucks and man, are those people missin out – & I really like SB’s! Shop & eat local when you can, people!! THis place is great!
Tastee Times. I just got back from Meshuggah’s and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed my ham/cheese/egg sesame bagel with coffee! I am really surprised that Meshuggah’s rating is 91. Uh, guys I’m thinkin’ 100%!
Overall we liked it. Food was good, people were friendly, but it did take a long time to get our food.
