Horrible Service. I’ve passed this restaurant numerous times, and on a whim decided to try it out with some friends. I went on a Saturday and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. My friends and I were seated quickly, but when it came time to take our orders, the waiter was extremely rude. I asked for a beverage and he said No. This kinda baffled me. I asked why not and he apologized stating he was thinking about something else. Immediately after a ticket scalper came in and the waiter stopped taking our orders and went to the back to get his wallet. Needless to say we left. I doubt I would ever return to try out the food, despite how good some of the other reviewers state it is.
The place that’s scowling waitress, she doesn’t make sense what we say.
Great food. I am nervous about trying new restaurants because of food sensitivities. The server was so kind as to check whether the items I ordered had ingredients that would bother me. The food was delicious. Generous portions too.
Best Thai food in St. Louis! Far better than the top rated restaurant. They use fresh ingredients in their dishes, which make them different from the rest.
Avoid. My friend and I got the Pad Thai, and we both thought it was the worst we ever had. It was almost purely noodles and had an overly sweet sauce (not balanced with the sour tamarind and salty fish sauce components like it should be).
Tasty. Love the food and decor
Best Coconut Curry Ever!. I’ve gone to Thai Country Cafe several times because it’s conveniently located across the street from the Pageant, and the service is pretty quick so you can easily get something to eat before a show. The service and decor are nice, but nothing extraordinary (not a place I’d recommend for a special occasion). The food, however, is what’s really worth mentioning. Every dish I’ve tried has been phenomenal, and since it’s Thai, veggie options abound. Thai Country Kitchen has one of my favorite menus of all time – I would definitely recommend giving it a try the next time you’re in the Loop!
