Pretty good food. The chicken wings are surprisingly delicious. The fajitas are also pretty good. I’m not the biggest Mexican food fan, but I would go back here.
Very displeased with my recent pick up experience. I love Chavas and live only a block down so I am frequently there. Tonight I called in an order got down there it was packed as usual, I had to find someone to help me, which isn’t a huge deal as they were busy. I then ask him to please make sure they include chips and he takes my card while I walk outside to wait. When I come back for my food he tells me he didn’t ring my chips as they have to charge for them. But they’re free when you sit down? That’s aggravating alone. I leave and go home and I open my box and everything is a disaster there is hardly any beans/rice. Needless to say with tip I spent 15 dollars for a burrito and encountered pretty poor experience. Not my finest Chavas experience.
First review, but not first visit here. Chava’s is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant to visit in STL. Not only are the margaritas awesome but the food is outstanding. This most recent visit, I opted for the Fried Tacos with Chicken and the Stuffed Peppers w/Sausage and Cheese. Their Salsa is the best in my book and so is the Queso. Chava’s is a must have!
Extremely pleased with the quality of food and service here. The food is excellent and has clearly been prepared carefully and thoughtfully. They also serve stellar margaritas! Only complaint is that I wish their menu was slightly bigger.
I love this place! Great food. Also the margaritas are awesome. I love the soulard area. Great atmosphere and people. I would recommend this place for sure!
Mexican Soulard Style!. Mexican in Soulard! Seated quickly. Fast & friendly service. Chips were fresh. Salsa was delicious. I suggest Ranchero Chicken Enchiladas
Not good. Chicken tacos had little flavor, rice was not good and frijoles mediocre.
