Overpriced. Entirely too expensive. Portions are very small and nothing to write home about.
I give it 3.5/5 spices. I had a decent lunch here recently. The dining area is nice, I would say above average in decor and cleanliness. The hot and sour soup was ok, but not outstanding. The Hunan Shrimp was very good and plenty spicy. Prices are very reasonable.
Quality declining. We would get takeout from here from time to time in the past, and it was actually not too bad. However, the four dishes that we ordered last night were practically inedible. The Buddhist Feast (vegetarian with Tofu) had no sauce and the Tofu was like cream cheese (try the tofu at Thai Peppers and you will understand the difference). The Sweet and Sour sauce was so sweet, and bright red; the chicken was not cooked all the way through and we could not eat it. The Chicken Stir Fried Noodle had very little flavor or sauce, and the chicken was not seared. The dish was like a bunch of noodles with plain chicken tossed in. The Vegetarian rice was soggy. All dishes needed more wok time, more flavor, or more singeing. To top it all off, I waited at the drive through for 30 minutes (that is a total of 50 minutes after calling in my order). I am hopeful that this is a one time incident; however, we probably would not go back.
Drive Thru? Why Not?. I really enjoy getting take out from 5 Spice. I always go through the Drive Thru and never have any issues. There is a small wait time but that is because they are cooking the food fresh. I always get Cashew Chicken & my husband gets the Sweet & Sour Chicken. It’s always fresh and hot. The Cashew Sauce is a little different but it still is very good. Give them the time to prepare your food and you will not be disappointed!Oh…and the Crispy Lobster & Cream Cheese Stuffed Wontons are EXCELLENT!
Delicious! Our new fave Chinese food in Springfield!
Drive thru, but Dont go in.. We’ve had the drive thru a few times and it was good and fairly priced. Decided to go in one Friday night, I should have known it be bad when there were only 4 tables occupied. The prices jumped up inside and the food I got was worse than the Drive Thru. Shrimp so overcooked they would bounce. Most of the servers had been sent home because of no customers and the ones that were there seemed frustrated and apathetic.
Only fried chicken. Every single chicken dish is battered and fried. Serving sizes are small, servers are usually rude. It always seems like some other table and some other need is more important than yours.
