Cool atmosphere. Got frito pie. Next time I’m ordering the burger. Got blackberry cobbler with ice cream. It was good. Go soon if you want to visit Etta May before she retires. She’s the faithful long time employee (46 years) who runs the kitchen. Great friendly service.

Years of pleasant memories. I have enjoyed Caspers since the mid 60’s when I first came to spfld. First as a college student at the previous location on s. glenstone then as a professional taking my out of town business contacts to lunch for an unusual treat. Never had a complaint. Food is great and the diner itself is very unusual. Going again today!

Get there early, or you’ll have to wait! Chili was good, had a double burger with an extra side of grease. Taste great, but don’t wear your best white shirt.

Casper did it right.. Small, cozy and tight is usually what you here about this place. The food is… what it is. As another Springfield Landmark you can expect the 1960’s ambiance followed by a good dose of fun. Don’t expect anything more than saying you have eaten here.

Great!. Not the world’s best chili, but it is still pretty damned good. Only bad part really is the waiting, or possibly if you don’t carry cash you may not like it. It is an older establishment, so the hours aren’t the most convinient. But everyone is very friendly! Reminds me of Fred and Red’s in Joplin.

Staple of Springfield Cuisine. If I had to sum up a place that will never go out of business it would be this one. Grilled ham and cheese with a bowl of chili is by far the best lunch ever! I think when there is a line outside a restaurant you wonder why and Casper’s reason is because of the food. Only wish they were open during the summer months.

Can’t wait till it opens back up!. Only open for half the year, but definately worth the wait! I can taste the frito pie right now and hear the sound of my stomach rumbling 🙁
