This is the first time in my life that I’ve ordered a margarita and not been able to drink it. I’ve been to El Magueys all over the place for years and though they’ve all been on a steady decline for over a decade, this one was by far the worst. It was so syrupy, tart and detergent like that you could’ve dumped a gallon of their crap tequila in it and never known it was there. Ordered a corona and just ate the chicken out of my fajitas, I’ll pass on the vegetables that were cooked into near baby food consistency.

Not good at all, it’s like the stuff comes out of a machine, bland and doesn’t leave me feeling good, don’t recommend & won’t go back

Taco lunch ripoff. Ordered the taco lunch. Got one small taco , splatter of retried beans and rice for $5.49. What a ripoff

We went on a Saturday afternoon. It was not very busy. Because of the layout, it took them a few minutes to see us waiting to be seated. Nothing worth griping about though. Chips came out warm and salsa had a very nice flavor and texture. Food came out promptly. The guacamole was not fresh bust the typical green paste you get at a lot of these places. I got a chicken chimichanga. I was pretty good. Nothing special about it though. The wife got the chicken fajitas. They were about average. A little on the bland side, though some may consider that more ‘authentic’. Service was good and the atmosphere is unique. Overall, this place is pretty descent, especially for Springfield. I will probably come here again.

Love EL Maguey!. This place has great fiesta nachos and the service is always great. The margarita prices are a little high but overall its legit. They should add the James Dip that the Rolla location has 😉 wink wink… anyways its a great place for adult birthday dinners too.

Food is pretty bland. Always get the same waiter & he is so unfriendly! This will probably be the last time I come because of this guy. I could handle the food but I have no patience for bad customer service!

Very good authentic place. Waiter was really nice. And the menu had plenty of great food
