This was a great little find for breakfast this morning. Gailey’s appears to have taken over about 3 different old storefronts and connected them so that they have 3 dining rooms. The options for breakfast were extensive and some nice, unique offerings too. I was thrilled to see a bagel/lox/cream cheese/tomato/onion/capers option, which was really good. My server was very professional, very prompt and always kept my coffee cup topped off. There was a good, steady business, so I could tell it was popular with the local folks. I could see myself coming back here any time I’m in town.
This was the absolutely most average breakfast I’ve had in my life. Keeping it simple, I had the Downtowner. Two eggs (over easy) sausage patties, hash browns. biscuits and gravy. The gravy was the best part of the meal, and that’s not saying much. My eggs and sausage were luke warm. The sausage didn’t seem like it had touched a grill. Think McDonalds. I’m guessing it was pulled from a steamer. Hash browns had no flavor. I can honesty say I didn’t enjoy one thing on my plate. I can not stress enough how poor this meal was.
! Had great time & a great breakfast. Anytime I’m in Springfield again, I’ll eat at Gailey’s. Food was just the way I ordered it & the service was exceptional. Also, reasonably priced.
Positive review. While the wait may be long, the food is absolutely delicious. I’ve been there a few times and personally never had bad service but I’m sure it’s happened just like any other place. The food is a very good experience though!
If you like to wait and be ignored this is your place!. I don’t mind waiting for a good restaurant. But at least greet me. At least acknowledge me. Then when I get my coffee make some attempt to keep my cup from sitting empty. The food is good enough, but the service is terrible, over and over, the service is terrible. I’ve been there many times and given them many chances. I won’t be going back.
