Love this place….. For one thing, the people who are saying this is a buffet are wrong, it’s mongolian stir fry, with you the patron making the ingredient choices. Huge difference, the only similarity is it’s all you can eat. While I like Genghis Grill’s take on the concept better, I still love HuHot. I can eat what I want, as much as I want, and have it cooked to my liking. If you have special diatary needs, you can truly control everything yourself. Watching the crew at the grill is entertainment in itself, and really adds to the atmosphere. I would eat here daily if I did’nt have to drive over 70 miles to get to the one in Springfield, but very soon, a new location will be opening up in Joplin. And you’ll see me there often.
Celiac-Friendly. I ate here often before my celiac diagnosis and knew that they were really friendly towards people with food allergies. I highly recommend it for good food but especially recommend it if you have any food allergies/celiac disease.
First off know that this is a buffet. They do offer salads and appetizers for extra $ but you are going to a buffet style resturaunt. Food quality is average but I have not seen a buffet yet that has truly high food. Cost is about $10 a person plus the cost of your drink. Restaurant was clean and the decor was nice. It is attached to the mall so that may be a plus if you are needing to get some shooing in.
Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. I was a little put off by the frozen beef and chicken, but because it was sliced thin it came out cooked perfect. The bar was clean and fresh with a good variety. Unlike other Mongolian grills I have been to, this one was all you can eat- highly recommend getting small portions so you can experiment with flabors! All in all great food and experience, we will be back.
Not impressed. The food was not very appetizing, I felt like I was being herded through a line like a cafeteria in elementary school, and it was over priced. Overall not a great experience, although I liked watching the guys cook the food. My kids got so tired standing in the line that they wanted to sit in the floor while waiting. So needless to say they weren’t happy either
Loved it. I was very skeptical about going, I had heard good and bad things about it. There was good selection from meat to veggies. A little confusing with so many sauces but I had friends to advise me on what they liked and what to try. We had great service, and the cooks sanitized the grill many of times, they will sanitized and block grill if you have allergies or are vegan, just let them know when you hand them your food. I very much enjoyed the overall experience.
Bad Buffet Concept. I feel like I paid a lot for a poor buffet that was messy and then had it cooked on a greasy not clean surface. Other patrons are rude and the line doesn’t move well. The ingredients weren’t that fresh and the cooks mixed my entree with some of the ingredients from other patrons. Yuck. I won’t go back.
