I was the customer that the owner talked to following the incident the other reviewer talked about, and want to clarify a few details. My daughter and I were ordering when she was at the other end of the counter shouting at the employees. The manager was the one taking our order and politely excused himself to address the situation when she became very loud. He returned and took our order when she returned to the table. Immediately after paying, my daughter and I had to jump out of the way as her husband charged down the aisle, chasing and shouting at a young female employee who was just trying to get away from him. His behavior towards the girl was quite threatening. It was at this point that the manager again stepped in. I was quite glad when the manager told them to leave, as their behavior was incredibly disruptive to everyone’s dining experience. Personally, I wouldn’t have issued a refund as they had, in fact, eaten their meals. The manager did an Excellent job handling a difficult, disruptive, and threatening customer.P.S. the menu clearly states that it is a single trip to the salad bar in that option. If you went back multiple times, you are a thief.Excellent restaurant, will return often. Wonderful staff and management.

My husband and I first went toJasons Deli on Wednesday July 28. We ordered an entre and the salad bar. Wewere not told at that time that it was only one trip. The menu does not saythis and the person taking our order did not tell us. If they had I would nothave taken it as in my opinion 4.75 is a lot to pay for one trip with a very smallbowl. We went back to the salad bar a couple times yet no one approached us totell that we should not be going back. The food was surprisingly good for adeli. I believe that they have been there for a year but I have never takennotice of it. We went back again on Saturday we both ordered an entre and thesalad bar and again we were not told only one trip. So when my husband wentback up they stopped him and told him that he could not go back up. He wasupset obviously, put the bowl down and walked away. At this point I went up andasked why and was told that we were given the wrong the bowels. I said you letus do this the last time we were in I did not realize it was one trip. Therewas no apology for their mistake ever the entire we were there. I simply saidwhatever and walked away. At that time the Manager yelled back at me WHATEVER.I told my husband who went up and said dont yell at my wife that way. The managertold him to get out, that he was banned from the store and called the police. Sowe waited for the police and asked for the owner of the store. We were givenone name and the store number. The police had the manager refund only my meal. The manager had said that there would be no refund as we had eaten our meals. They were sitting in front of us and we had taken only a couple bites. We waitedfor the police and told them our side of the story. The store manager arrivedat the store as we were leaving. He refused to talk to us or hear our side ofthe story. Instead he talked to the two customers and got their version. Whenhe did call my husband to talk to him there again was no apology. This is badcustomer service especially in a city where your customers can go elsewheremany times over. Restaurants are a dime a dozen here in Springfield. For theamount I paid I could have gone to Chilis and gotten awesome service or paid alittle more and gone to Jims where the service is impeccable. The store manager did unban my husband but wewill not be returning which is sad as I like the food. Apparently they haveenough customers so they dont need our money. I will be telling everyone abouttheir treatment of us.

Will Definitely Return. I ate at Jason’s Deli on Battlefield Road for the first time today. I got the chicken caesar salad. Most places you go to, and order a chicken caesar salad, you get a pile of lettuce, with a couple pieces of chicken, and a couple croutons. Not only was this not the case at Jason’s Deli, but I had leftover chicken and croutons in the container when the lettuce was all gone. Now that’s my kind of salad! The caesar dressing was not overly tangy like some caesar dressings are, and the croutons appeared to be whole wheat and rye croutons, which was a pleasant surprise.I also had the southwest chicken chili, which I’ll admit I was expecting a white bean chicken chili, but it was still delicious none-the-less.That wasn’t an error on the part of Jason’s, but was instead an error in my perception of what I was going to be receiving. They even offer free ice-cream with your meal. I didn’t partake of this, but it’s still pretty cool.I highly recommend Jason’s Deli. I’m excited to return and try some of the other items they have on the menu. Perfect place to go for lunch during the work-week.
