The bright vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff go a long way in keeping Jose Locos busy and highly rated on other platforms. I love Springfield but its not the kind of town where you find authentic Mexican food no matter what the signs and menus say. At best youre getting Tex-Mex or Ameri-Mex and thats ok IF done well. JLs misses by not employing fresh ingredients. The salsa isnt fresh made nor any of the sauces and youll need to ask for and pay for cilantro or grilled jalapeos. Even for pre-packaged the tortillas lacked flavor. But the food came fast, the tables and chairs are cool, they have a bar ready to party etc. Just kind of proves, people eat with their eyes.
