Nice food but terrible service. Not family friendly, waitress forgot drinks and food took a while to get to our table. When it finally got there waiters were asking for empty plates whilst we were still eating. Then when the check came the waitress snatched the money from our table and rudely walked out wishing us a good stay as she had already walked off, disgusting!
Sigh. I should have just had the sushi.. So, instead of going with my usual nigiri that I get, I decided to be adventurous and try something else on the menu.I had the Ahi tuna. I couldn’t finish any of it. Let’s put it like this… if you like everything heavily salted including the noodles, the greens and the tuna, you might like this. Sigh.
Best Sushi Restaurant Ever. I had the wonderful experience of dining at KAI while on a business trip in Springfield, Missouri. It was the best Sushi that I have ever eaten, and for that fact, the best restaurant that I have ever dined in and I have had the unique opportunity to dine in some of the best restaurants in Asia, Middle East, Africa, Former Soviet Union and Central America. Mr. Phil Lee, owner, is the epitome of customer service and I teach this subject for a living. The dcor, in red (my favorite color) took me back to some of the best restaurants in Moscow.I highly recommend KAI and it is a MUST DINE when in Springfield!
It takes forever to get your food here. Don’t expect to get in and out in an hour here ever!
First off, the service here is nothing exceptional, we waited on a Thursday evening almost 10 minutes before we were sat. It was 8 minutes before someone even spoke to us. If it hadn’t of been late already they would have lost our business. In a place of business you should train all of your staff to seat, or at least communicate with the guests about their host/table. It can leave a bad first impression on any business. 2nd the service in the Dining room was not good either. The waiters do not check back with you or come by to see if you need anything. We went without water, chopsticks, and a few other things during our meal. Lastly, the food. The sushi at Kai is tasty. The presentation is very nice and the whole decor of the place is very sensual, romantic, and modern. We ordered an array of sushi rolls and nigiri. They all were very good. The best being the whitehouse roll and the spicy scallop nigiri.
OMG! The last time I had a dessert like this I was in New York. Better have some upper body strength to cut through that fudge.
Good Atmosphere. I would not say I like the food, but interrior is so nice that I think I an still coming back. The appetizer was good, other than that we had sushi, which was ok. I cannot say anything about kitchen, maybe it is awesome. I would recommed to go there to check it out.
