I’ve eaten here several times and the food has always been good. Sometimes the portion sizes have been a bit lacking and for other items (some type of soup off the special menu) I’m shocked at how much you get. I’ve generally ordered off the special menu and once I got something I don’t think I ordered but it tasted good. I really enjoy their dumplings and the younger women who work behind the counter are friendly and helpful but the older lady who brings out the food could be a bit more personable. So-so. My complaints are regarding the crab Rangoon, and the service. The rangoons are lacking on the filling, basically it’s about a teaspoon or less of filling, they definitely could add much more for the size of the wonton. Too much wonton wrapper, not much filling.secondly, the older woman at the window, I’m assuming she’s the owner or manager, she’s somewhat negative towards her customers at times.. Other than that the other menu items are decent.

Hot and Cold. This place is so inconsistent. It’s only blocks from my home. I’ve been there many times. Sometimes it’s the best Chinese food in town. Other times, like this afternoon, it’s pretty sad. Today I went in and ordered Kung Pao Beef, extra spicy, ala carte. The dish came fast (too fast) and tasted good. The portion size was nice. What bothered me was that it was cold. Not Room Temperature or Warm…COLD. The beef had obviously been pre-cooked and the sauce added when I ordered in order to speed service. But they didn’t heat it enough. Some areas of my plate were warm, other parts of my plate were refrigerator cold. i’ve been here many times. The portion sizes are wildly inconsistent, that’s the down side. The up side is that the food can be VERY good and the place is always clean. I wish I could recommend it. I can’t.

I know Chinese food. And this wasn’t it:( Went there today and it was horrible. Ordered Cashew Chicken and it was loaded with oil and salt. So much soy sauce in the rice! Husband ordered Sesame Chicken, and again, horrible! It was pure sugar. We went because it was recommended to us by a friend. Not going to retry. Not worth the money.

I love Chinese and I love Triple 8’s. I always get drive-thru when I eat here, but it’s always good! They give you rice and 2 crab ragoons with each meal. All of their food is reasonably priced and they give you the most for your money (at least I think so!). Anyways, I’m a fan and you should be too.
