Went there for lunch this week and a Christmas party. We had great food both times but also horrible service on both occasions. The owner does not seem to care much about the quality of service his patrons receive. When I called to book the Christmas party, I asked about a the possibility of a drink special, I heard and very sharp NO. Staff was rude and charged us gratuity, 20%. We waited 17 minute for our first round of drinks. I will never have a party there again!
We went there for St. Patrick’s day. I order a Guinness, got a bottle. Which was fine but slightly surprising. Had corn beef and cabbage, was ok—slightly bland. I will try again some other time.
CJ’s Mesquite Burger. A half pound of Certified Angus Beef, topped with your choice of cheeses, mushrooms, jalapenos and smoked bacon. Delicious!
Pulled Pork Nachos. Home made potato chips covered with pulled pork, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole. Pork had a nice amount of bark lending to a great smokey flavor. Cheese, I thought, was in too great a quantity, but good. The chips were wonderful, we found ourselves digging out ALL of them and the pork before we left. Reasonably priced at $10, I would order them again with less cheese.
Love it!. Good atmosphere, great drinks! Classy but not ostentatious!
Contra Jessica. Had lunch there today. About 1pm. Fairly quiet. The waitress was very attentive and nice. They have long had one of the best soup and salad bars in town. Especially the latter. Is there anyplace else in Billings that has herring in their salad bar? I thought not.
Why are there two CJ’s on here?. I’m copying my review from the other CJ’s:Ever since CJ’s moved to their new location, it’s gone downhill. The new place is loud, the servers act like they are doing you a favor by visiting your table, and they get drinks wrong. We went for a special dinner for our anniversary, they seated us next to little kids, even though there was a more secluded area available. If you want a nice place to eat, for a special occasion, head to Walkers or even Jake’s. If you don’t really care about atmosphere or service, go to CJ’s.
