Good BBQ. We came in for lunch and walked out satisfied but lunch for 2 adults 2 kids came out to $75 ! Hubbie and I shared (with help from the kids) the mixed bbq platter that the server said would feed 4 people. It may have but half of one of the rib portions was pure fat… seriously, no meat – I don’t even know how they managed to put it on the platter without it falling apart on them. The server and I had a bit of an ‘issue’ at first when I asked her to quickly grab my daughter some ginger ale as she was feeling very car sick and needed to take some medication right away… she stood there, looked at me and kept right on asking what everyone else would like and I asked her again to grab me some ginger ale or something asap … she again stood there and starting asking again when I cut her off and asked where the bar was and I would get the ginger ale. She was fine after that but holy stubborn. Kids did not like their meals much but they ate parts of theirs and then some of our bbq (burger was charred – too much so for a child) kid’s ribs were good. I would go back but only if I was in the mood for a chain type place like Montana’s, Kelsey’s etc
Delicious.. I ordered the brisket. It was my first time ever eating brisket, and Famous Dave’s did not disappoint! It was so tender and juicy. I loved having all of the different BBQ sauces to try. Good portions for the price. We split the bread pudding for dessert. It was seriously the best bread pudding I have ever had. I might even go there just to eat the dessert 🙂
Good eats, good value. A family restaurant , but the food is good, and the service is excellent. We had the beef brisket last night, and it was excellent. In previous visits, we’ve had the ribs, the burgers, and they’re very good, too. The sides are great, especially the baked beans, stewed apples with cinnamon, corn on the cob, and some others; it’s hard to go wrong. It’s big and noisy, especially with a few screaming kids in the background, but go for the food and you’ll be well-fed.
Famous Jenn. Went here the other day for lunch upon the request of an out of state colleague. Food was decent, and our server Jenn was exceptional. Would not be my first choice for BBQ, but there is nothing wrong with it.
Having lived in a city that was the Mecca of BBQ, I was a little hesitant to go to visit Famous Daves. The food wasn’t as bad as I had expected. Several of the sauces were a little off tasting, and the food had a slightly processed feel, but was not completely unpalatable. There were several redeeming qualities: the cornbread was great, the ribs were tender and tasty, and the corn on the cob was good too. The BBQ chicken had a slightly weird texture, and lacked flavor. The wait staff was not exceptional, or exceptionally friendly, but was not extremely slow either. I would visit again if I needed BBQ.
Would go back. Overall a good deal with good selection of meats. The smoke flavor is good but not overpowering. I’ve eaten in the family area and it is good for kids of all ages. The bar area has TVs and is a good place to drink a brew and watch a game while eating. Dave’s has several different sauces to choose from which is good too. You can get hot, spicy or texas style sauces plus a couple more I can’t think of off hand.
A Little Pricey, Good Potatoes. The food was excellent; however, based upon the pricing – I don’t think it was worth it. You can find the same and often better quality food at a ‘Ma and Pa’ or ‘Hole in the Wall,’ at half of the price. The service size was also on the small side, compared to most other BBQ joints. On the good side, the Potatoes and Pork were perfect.
