Small portions and ridiculous wait for food.. We waited 50 + minutes for order of food to arrive to find portions of bean and rice were the size of a tablespoon which we paid an additional $3.00 for the beans alone. Poor service and food portions have continued to shrink over the last two visits. There are several mexican restaurants in Billings which enables us not to continue put up with this non-sense.G. Substandard tex-mex. The …. Substandard tex-mex.The service was good. Very friendly, polite, and prompt. The food was not good. I ordered a chimichanga, which I do not believe had been fried- the tortilla was soggy and chewy. The ground beef was poorly seasoned. The Spanish rice and beans had been allowed to sit on the plate and under the heat lamps long enough to crisp the top layer of rice and form a skin on the beans. Guacamole wasn’t made fresh and tastes store-bought. The salsa seems like doctored-up store bought salsa, not fresh. I’ve had the owner’s food years ago. It was amazing. I wonder if she is checking on the food and recipes used?? There is a lot to be said about using fresh ingredients and less Tex and more Mex.
Terrible service! Myself and two friends went today for a birthday lunch-how disappointing! We decided to go at 1:00 p.m., so the lunch rush would be over so we didn’t have to rush, and we would get better service. That plan did not work! My friend and I arrived first, and the third ten minutes later, five minutes after that the male server ran by, and asked if we were ready to order? We had no menus, had no water! He brought us water, had to go back to get menus, and we never saw him again! Two of us ordered super mucho burrito with colorado verde! All the verde was, is watered down beanless chili! Both were COLD! Other friend ordered quesadilla with chicken, they tried with this one by putting on tons of cheese, but no chicken-which we had to pay for. We had to ask for silverware! Salsa they serve with chips is water with some tomatoes to make it red, with some cayenne! Lots of people running around no one working the tables, I guess bar patrons more important!
Terrible Service. 2 of my friends and 2 grandchildren went to Guadalajara’s for dinner Friday. We had spent all day in the hospital with a very ill family member. We requested a table that the server did not want to seat us at so after we were seated we were not served. We had to go to the bar and ask for service twice. If we hadn’t been so tired we would have left. I have eaten at this restaurant for months & always liked it. We drove from downtown Billings specifically to eat there. I will not go back and will relate this story to anyone who asks.
I love this place but please do not order take out. We ordered meals, our tacos were soggy they feel apart, I had beans and spoon full of rice. The chips and dip suck, our chips were hard as rock and the dip was nothing but tomatoe juice. I have always ordered from this place and was satisfied, but I was so disappointed with my food and my family’s meals.
