Four of us went for dinner last nite (7/25/26). Service was very good but the food wasn’t. Two ordered the small sirloin steak and, although cooked right were extremely salty. I ordered the small ribeye and although also cooked OK was extremely tough and also extremely salty such that I couldn’t even finish it. All of our baked potatoes looked like they were rolled in salt after cooking. Only good thing about the meals were the salads. Hard to screw them up. We have crossed this place off our list of places to eat in Billings.
One of the best steaks I have ever had. Mt husband and I absolutely loved everything about this place! This is where we eat dinner every time we go to billings.
The ambience here is about what you’d expect from a place called Texas Roadhouse. Kinda kitschy, but in the right way. Fairly loud, so don’t go if you want to have an intimate experience. The servers all stop what they are doing and do a line dance at certain times, so kinda cool, slightly entertaining. Let’s talk about the food though, which is really what we’re here for right? I really like their chili here, and recommend it as an app, but it’s also offered as a side, which I have gotten a couple of times to go on my Chicken Fried steak, hereto referred as CFS as we do in Texas. The CFS is hand breaded, not one of those frozen hockey puck things other places try to pawn off, and is pretty good sized, so no complaints there. What I will complain about, and the reason I put my chili on the CFS, is that their cream gravy is sweet. As in they either put sugar in it, or it comes that way out of the can or whatever it comes to them in. Whatever the case, what should be really good is not to me, so I use the chili, and that’s good stuff. I’ve only ever had steak there a couple of times and it’s as good as you would expect. It is a steak place after all and it should be good right? My daughter ordered the steak tips on the kid’s menu once though and didn’t like them. They had some kind of funky tasting seasoning on them, so I don’t recommend them, but the kid’s sirloin my son ordered was as good as any from anywhere else. Good food. Reasonable prices. Fun, lively atmosphere. Throw your peanut shells on the floor, kinda honky tonk vibe type of place. Over all positive experience, even if the CFS gravy sucks…lol!
Amazing! I was blown away by the service. Their food was perfectly cooked an was fast especially for how busy it was. I have 2 kids and they showered them with gifts and free desserts. I was in shock. Monday night kid night was a definite we are coming back!
OMG best rib eye I have ever had. Every single one of the waitresses were super friendly, very helpful, constantly checking on us. Loaded mashed and sweet potato were awesome! The fried pickles were different but very good. You get tons of them. Def coming back to try the ribs…maybe even tomorrow 😉
Steaks were amazing. Had the ribeye. WellWorth the money. Great upbeat staff. Good beers on tap.
Flavor. Very casual, laid back, not quiet and a good flavor on your steak. Sweet potatoes are good and a nice selection of brews. Rolls and soft butter are good enough to fill you up before your food gets to you as well. For a chain restaurant it is a real good steak and service is good as well.
