By far the worst, most overpriced food in the worst atmosphere in the western US.

Why do people like this place? The food is mediocre at best and way over-priced considering the quality.

Never disapponted. New or old location I have never had a bad meal at the Windmill. We always have the barbecued prawns which may be unusual for some people-yes they do have barbecue sauce on them-and they are always what we expect-great. Yes I do miss the old back lit paintings of Venice and the supper club atmosphere but the food has never disappointed!

Terrible. We haven’t had a decent meal here in the past three years but the other day my companion insisted on lunch. Never again. I had the prawns and fries. Three prawns, were really just average size shrimp. They were so tough and rubbery I couldn’t bite or cut them. Nasty sweet and sour sauce that was neither. Steak fries that looked just like the ones you get frozen at the store. They were under cooked and completely unseasoned. Not even salt. Fifteen dollars for that. It’s a disgrace. Please forget the snob factor and save your money. Go somewhere else.

Good Service. We had a large group dinner at the Windmill, and I was a little nervous because of reviews here of the place. But, we had great service, friendly and prompt. I’ve already reviewed the dinner that I had, which was not the greatest and probably not deserving of the price attached. The drinks were good, and I would be willing to give this place another shot if I have another fancy dinner planned.12 Apr, 2011Coconut Crusted Shrimp. This was an appetizer that a friend and I shared, and they were great! Three huge shrimps, hot, and yummy. The breading wasn’t mushy or too crusty – it was just right.12 Apr, 2011Walnut Crusted Halibut. I’ve made this recipe at home, and not be too bragging, but mine was better. The fish was alright, but at the ends it was mushy – which means to me that it was overcooked. The middle was firmer. The walnut crusting on top was soggy – perhaps because of the asparagus & hollandaise sauce was placed on top of the fish instead of the side, like I thought it would be. The veggies served with it were obviously previously frozen and pretty bland, even with salt.

From the Slums to Upper Crust. This is a business that the older Billings residents loved while it was in a dump of a building. Known for good food and service they moved to a new beautiful building on the west end and raised their prices. The menu and food is just not the same but it is getting better. You should try them if you have not been there yet. They serve lunch and dinner and the food is good but not great.

Horrible service, rotten food (literally served spoiled shrimp cocktail!) and an overall disappointing dinner. We will never return to this restaurant, nor recommend it to friends.
