Burned Pizza, Super Slow Service and Unfulfilled Promises. While the salads were okay, the pizzas we ordered came burned. By burned I don’t mean the normal dark brown crust produced by a pizza oven, I mean charcoal black on the bottom and top. The server must have been out of it thinking that this was suitable for eating. And it took about an hour to receive these burned pizzas. My mother-in-law contacted the management the next day, and while they were apologetic and said that they would refund us for the burned pizza, they never did. I will not go back here, and will not recommend it to anyone. I’m not sure why it is so highly reviewed.

Had a 730 reservation. They called me at 430 to say they couldn’t take us. Awful. Stay away.
Not Impressed. My girlfriend and I arrived and were seated at the bar (thinking we would stop in Bozeman on the way to Seattle)…we waited ten minutes to see if anyone of the staff would make even make an attempt to acknowledge us. We left shortly after waiting and went to Fin across the street (which was better service; but sub par food)..Overall, not impressed with any of the restaurants we tried in Bozeman (tried the Bistro as well). This little town is one of the rudest places around especially when considering there is literally nothing in it to be so arrogant about.
Sadly, we weren’t able to eat here. We made a reservation for our last night in Bozeman. Wanted to treat our local family members. I called a few days ahead of time.We were a large party of 12 and spoke to the kind hostess, who said I had to speak with Nick. I did so and he said we were good to go. Unfortunately, we get there and they didn’t have us down. He later figured out that he put us down for 7 days forward. Bummer. Nick seemed nice but disorganized and abrupt. They need someone more on the ball IMO. Took a long time even for him to apologize.
Best of Bozeman hands down. Personally as a professional cook I wouldn’t spend my (or anyone’s) money in more than 3 restaurants in Bozeman. Blackbird is my #1.If ingredients and preparation are important to you, then Blackbird is bottom line the best restaurant in Bozeman. And no more expensive than most all of the other dinner restaurants unless you eat fast food…The wood fired brick oven pizzas are the best in Montana, easy. And the salads perfect. The bread is off the chart if you like real bread, crusty with incredible flavor and made with a starter. The chicken is prepared perfectly. The meats impeccable. The pastas are usually nice, sometimes very Al dente, (just specify if you have a preference). And the desserts taste wonderful. The service is usually great. In the dozens of dinners I’ve had there the service is almost always gracious and they are on their game, doing their best.Thank god for Blackbird is how I see it. Love it!
I had the most amazing meal and the most amazing time. Brought my grandparents they enjoyed everything about the place. I will be going there again very soon!
