Worth Finding!. On a trip to Missoula, I decided to stop in Bozeman at Cafe Zydeco for lunch. I took the first exit and drove through town to find it and was so glad I did! It is a fast casual, order at the counter and your food is brought to you kind of spot. I told the young woman at the counter that it was my first visit and she was great. We had the shrimp and grits and the fried oyster poor boy. Both were great! We order beignets to go and only ate one. We kept them in the car for a couple of days and then microwaved them for a few seconds and they were just as wonderful! I will go again!
Great atmosphere and unique amazing food. Will be back for sure.
Instant favorite. Cafe Zydeco is an immediate favorite of mine in Bozeman. I have been through towns in Louisiana that most people have never heard of, I have eaten at cajun restaurants in places outside cajun country. This is my favorite cajun restaurants I’ve ever been to outside Louisiana. Everything about the place says wonders; the dining area is cool and comfortable, yet wide open (unlike most of New Orleans). The dining ‘shed’ outside is such a cool place to eat, and the food is delicious too! I implore you, take a look around, enjoy a snapshot of the culture that is reminiscent of the bayou.
Decent food, awkward dining though. I can’t make up my mind about Zydeco – on one hand, there’s no disagreeing with the fact that their food tastes good and the prices are reasonable. On the other hand, it feels like a typical Bozeman dump-of-a-restaurant: tables don’t get cleared, the behind-the-counter area is a mess, and basically it just seems like they don’t ever look at what the customers really see. Kinda made me wonder what their walk-in cooler looks like. Also – their menu board above the register is unreadable, so do yourself a favor: grab the paper menu and a chair, and order your meal to-go. Out of sight, out of mind.
Probably my favorite. Restaurant in the whole city. Cafe Zydeco is super delicious, not too expensive and really fun. My only complaint is their weird short hours during the winter.
