Great BBQ! Famous for a reason, the company started in Wisconsin and can now be found across the country. It’s nice to find a touch of home when on the road.
I had a good first impression on Famous Dave’s. They had good food and good service. Two days later we went back to the restaurant expecting the same food and service. It turned out to the one of the worst food experiences I have ever encountered. After ordering our food, an hour later the waitress came with chips to our table claiming that the kitchen was running slow and the food would arrive in 5 minutes. We asked the waitress again after thirty more minutes and she claimed that the steak and salmon we ordered was what was holding up all our food. Tables around us that arrived later than us has been seated, eaten, and left. When out food finally came the potatoes were not cooked, the steak dried, the soup cold, and one of our original orders were wrong. It seemed as if the food has been sitting on the hotplate for a extended amount of time. I just wish that they have told us how long the food actually was instead of lying.
Corn on the cob. It was awful! Soggy and overcooked. When I commented to the waitress that it should never have left the kitchen, she said a lot of guests say that, but ‘corporate policy’ says to fix it that way. HUH? Everything else was great. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The chopped pork was properly spiced and the choices of sauce were good. The corn muffins were great. Why ruin the corn?
Great Food!. After a long day at Yellowstone and some miles under our belt while heading for Seattle, we spotted a billboard for Famous Dave’s and it sounded perfect at the time!So we arrive at Famous Dave’s in Bozeman, were greeted by friendly servers and even challenged them on Santa Maria Style Steak! Must be Santa Maria in Argentina or Brazil because it didn’t match what we have here :)Dinner was great… from the brisket to the coleslaw. A pulled pork sandwich *with* brisket and ribs. Great cornbread… pretty much everything. We were hungry and we had a great dinner. We thought Famous Dave’s was a one off… that was until I saw some of their BBQ sauce for sale at a store and I looked them up on the internet… Wow, one just 90 miles for me! Road-Trip!
