The wife and I split a pastrami Reuben and we both had a bowl ofchili. The sandwich was prepared on properly grilled, marbled rye with tasty kraut and sauce on the side. The pastrami was flavorful, but sparse. We both enjoyed the sandwich despite the lack of meaty volume. The chili was prepared without beans (Texas style) and contained small chunks of prime rib. We bothagreed it was the highlight of our lunch. A word of caution…the chili goes fast during lunch hour since they only make enough to use up the previous nights unsold prime rib. Good service anda decent beer and wine selectionin a comfortable setting added toour lunch experience.
Nothing to write home about…. The service was quite nice, but I’m afraid that was the high point of this dining event. I must echo the sentiment voiced by several of the previous diners. One gets too little bang for one’s buck at Dante’s. The flavors one encounters are, sadly, rather middle of the road. The only standouts being the condiments served with the bread and salad (i.e., roast-garlic with oil & balsamic and the house dressing, respectively). The remainder of the meal consisted of rather uninspired ingredients and was rather lacking in flavor. I chose the shrimp and crab alfredo entre. Unfortunately the flavors of this dish were very much unbalanced…the sauce and shrimp were bland and left me yearning for the occasional lump of crab meat to provide some relief from the lifeless alfredo. To paraphrase one previous reviewer…I probably could have made the same dinner at home for the same price. Also, am I missing something…where are the appetizers?
BEST RESTAURANT IN GREAT FALLS!. Being military and from the east coast.. we have been to just about every restaurant/food joint in this town and this is always by a landslide the best place to eat in town. Both having food service backgrounds, we feel the service is exceptional and the food is always very high quality and taste! If you need a nice dinner out after a long day at work, a special occasion or just a nice first date… head to Dante’s.
The Food Is Good, But For The Price You can Make It At Home.
Wonderful!. My wife and I have turned Dantes into our Anniversary Spot. Anytime we have company in town or want to go out on a date we know Dantes wont disappoint. You can taste and see the value in their food and atmosphere. I would recommend Dante’s for your special occasions.
Too expensive for ok food. The food is fine; not worth the price charged.
Much Improved!. Hadn’t eaten much at Dante’s since I had some way overdone pasta a year or so ago. I do frequent the bar as a place to meet friends after work though because we love the good wines and the friendly atmosphere. Plus the old building is incredibly inviting. Anyway, I had company in for Christmas from Las Vegas and decided to try Dante’s again. Among us we had the fresh grouper, filet mignon, and seafood pasta. The waiter said the fish had been flown in that day, and it tasted as such! It was almost as good as my favorite restaurant in Destin, FL, where it’s right off the boat!! One of our group asked for her filet mignon (which was wrapped in bacon) with a side of bearnaise. She loved it, and she dines regularly in good Vegas places. All of us agreed the food was delicious. In addition, the service was perfect. Pricing seemed quite fair. I’d recommend this place to anyone and can’t wait to go back.
