Standard breakfast fare…nothing special. The prices are reasonable and portions adequate. The server was breathing…that’s the best I can say about her.We were made to feel as welcome as a snipper at branding time. Note: the tomato soup is wonderful.
Comping a meal does not make things right!. We stopped here for dinner on our way back to Canada. Last time we visited this restaurant was 10 years ago and 10 years ago the food was great. It was about 4:15 PM when we arrived and restaurant was empty except for 2 couples. My husband ordered the (Famous) Meat Loaf and I ordered the Chuck-wagon steak. Bad…..really bad…. instead of a generous portion of meat loaf the one would expect to have a rich meaty taste he got four thin slices of what tasted like cardboard and looked like it had been microwaved by the burn spots. The potatoes tasted like instant and the corn was frozen out of a bag and no butter. The chuck-wagon steak arrived hot from the microwave and had been frozen and was freezer burned. It was tasteless as freezer burnt food will taste. I also had rice which was tasteless and corn out of the freezer bag without butter. I had chicken soup that tasted very old and flavorless and no depth. My husband had a green salad that was 99% lettuce with a few specks of carrot, and tiny piece of red cabbage. My husband sent back his meal and the waitress comped a piece of banana cream pie that had fake cream on top and the banana cream had the consistency of gelatin. Do yourself a favor eat somewhere else….Don’t be the second one in to use the restroom. The men’s room handicap stall was missing the door and the other stall door wouldn’t lock. The women’s restroom had a stall with a shower curtain for a door. Saving grace is that both restrooms were clean, odor and debris free.
Famous tomato soup. Love their tomato soup! It’s famous around these parts. Overall it’s good, greasy, diner food. Nothing too spectacular, but I’ve never been disappointed. Good amount of food for really good prices too.
It’s cheap, if nothing else…. This place was really nothing special. The soup is decent, but it was downhill from there. Between the food being way too salty and the beef having a funky (boiled?) taste, I don’t see myself returning.
