My absolute fave place to eat when I visit Kalispell! When we visit from Calgary,Ab I always insist coming to this place to eat. Meats, ribs.. what else can you ask for? Deliciousness! They jalapeo mac and cheese is out of this world, you must try it! They have bunch of different sauces on the table for your ribs and meats, all restaurant made and you can buy a bottle and take it home. I always load up and buy a couple bottles of the Devil’s spit bbq sauce, tangy and spicy it’s my fav. Recommend coming to the place. Good service, great food and family oriented.
Happy Hour. Rolled into town late and needed to eat. Can’t beat $5 chicken tenders or $6 rib tips. Service was fast,friendly, and professional. This location also serves liquor in addition to the beer and wine at most other Famous Dave’s.
Awful food!. My wife and I had been looking forward to having dinner at Famous Dave’s for some time and took the opportunity during our recent visit to Kalispell MT. The restaurant was clean and tidy and interestingly decorated but things went downhill from there. Our waitress delivered our drinks quickly without straws and we were left for at least 10 minutes before she grudgingly threw them on our table and seemed to be annoyed that we had asked for them. My wife ordered a 1/2 chicken and I a steak which I was assured by the waitress would be delicious. My wife’s chicken was literally burnt to a cinder and cold, completely black and dried out to the point that it was inedible, obviously it had sat for a considerable time. My steak was as tough as the sole of a hiking boot and most unpleasant in flavour. Our waitress came back to ask how the food was and we showed her the burnt chicken. She said that she had noticed it when she brought it to us and offered to replace it which she did. The replacement was not much better and my wife only managed to eat the leg. Have these people never heard of a meat thermometer, and do they not realise that a visit to a restaurant is made with the expectation of food cooked to perfection? The evening was a complete let-down, we will definitely never eat there again or recommend the restaurant to our friends. What a rip-off, for what we paid we expected better.
Poor food and service. The only thing the BBQ has going for it is the sauce. The food wasn’t hot, the brisket was cold and tough. The corn bread was good, but no butter or honey brought with it. I believe the food sat under warming lights for a long time.We saw the waitress 3 times. Took our order, brought food, then our check. No drink refills during the meal. Staff was standing around visiting. Obviously the place has a management problem. Lack of training and control.
Got the dinner for 2 on the garbage can lid, it was so good. Could have fed up to 4 people with all of the food in this meal
On the features it says ‘gluten free friendly’ , but it’s really not. They have one meat option, a few sides and a couple sauces. That’s it. The server really was unsure about what would have gluten or not and told me upfront that there was no guarantee the food wouldn’t be contaminated. I did enjoy the plate I ordered but wished I had had some options. The service was good. The drinks were overpriced, though. I don’t know whether to like or dislike this place.
We like Dave’s for a quick bite, but as of late it’s anything BUT that. Slow and incompetent service, half the staff is goofing off behind the bar or in the back talking, and the rest are in the floor rolling their eyes at the customers. There are a lot better places to spend your $ in Kalispell.
