Mediocre/awkward. Super friendly hostess and server. The atmosphere was just not for us, and the food was largely disappointing. Pasta with scallops had the teeniest teeny little scallops, and the base for the pasta sauce had to be a can of cambells mushroom soup. The seasoning was rather offputting too. My husband’s caesar salad barely had any dressing. My caesar salad had a nice amount of dressing, and I enjoyed that they used butter lettuce instead of the traditional romaine. It was a neat change. However, the lettuce leaves are left whole, which looks nice.. but kind of wraps up our feeling about McGarry’s – that it is trying hard to be a $$$ restaurant, but is serving $ food, and it just ends up feeling a bit cheesy. The night we were there, a kind man was playing piano in the corner, and every so often a sweet lady would sing. They were both fine at what they did… but it was rather..uhm… loud. We couldnt talk during our ‘romantic’ dinner really at all, and we were a few tables away from the live music. So the music was a bit offputting that way. Others may enjoy that sort of thing, but we just didnt enjoy it.
Love This Place!. Great food and great people. My favorites are the filet mignon and Jackie’s Steak Salad. Literally crave their smoked chicken quesadilla. The lemon drop martini and the mojitos are unbelievably good. A night at McGarry’s is always a good one.
They have terrific starters, fantastic fresh fish, and a great apple pie.

Not that good for the price.. I’ve eaten here a few times and have never thoroughly enjoyed the meals. The atmosphere is nice but the food is so-so. It is very expensive for what is served.
Excellent. The food and service was superb. We had Vietnamese Spiders and Asian Coleslaw. Both were creative, complex, delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was very attentive.
Highly recommended from a man with a taste for fine cuisine. On vacation from California, we stopped here per recommendation of a friend who moved to Whitefish, MT a few years back. We were blown away!! The food was excellent, staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and on top of everything service-wise. We were seated outside- highly recommended, weather permitting. The menu was definitely unique- a blend of Asian fusion and classic dishes; but don’t let that scare you- they were very, very good. I had french onion soup to start and the Pad-Thai as the entree. It was the best Pad-Thai I’ve ever had! Other’s in the party had the petit filet and the crawfish special; both were very delicious and cooked as ordered. As for the price- it wasn’t particularly pricey coming from Southern California, especially for the food and service– and no sales tax to boot!
