Pros: Good Meats, decent BBQ, Good Service, Reasonable Prices | Cons: Limited Seating, and a bit of a dive. This place always seemed to be busy when we drove by, so we decided to try it for dinner one evening. It was a small restaurant with limited indoor seating, and several outside tables. It had the feeling of a southern BBQ shack, which wasn’t a problem for me, but might be a bit rustic for some. I ordered a 2-meat platter and chose Brisket and Chicken as my meats. Both meats were very good moist and tasty. The BBQ sauce was a pretty decent sauce that reminded me most of Texas style barbeque. They had a bottle at the table so you could take as much or as little as you would like. The platters came with two sides. I ordered macaroni and cheese, and baked beans, both were good choices. We also tried Nachos and their chili. We were not too impressed with the Nachos as they needed additional toppings, but did have a good taste when the toppings were heavier. The chili was what my Mother used to call Chili Soup, a more liquid version of the chili you would normally see. I enjoyed the taste of the chili, but if you like a thicker chili you may want to stay away from it. Portion size was pretty good, prices were reasonable, and service was great. I would eat here again.
Food was great and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend the French dip and fried okra. They had lots of local beers and the staff was friendly.
Group of five, and we were sat decently fast. About five minutes or so after we ordered, our waitress came back to say they were out of buffalo burger, as it’s the only thing they bring in that’s not made there. I then chose something different. Five minutes after that she came back again to say they were out of the special posted on their board up front. My coffee had many grounds in it. Okay so the negative stuff is out of the way. Our waitress was great. Drinks refilled fast and was very informative. On the food, the people next to us ordered the pork nachos and it smelled amazing. French dip was good, but meat was a little fatty and touch. Pulled chicken had amazing flavor and was perfectly tender. Their ranch dressing was the best I’ve ever tasted. I don’t remember the name of my burger, but it was listed directly above the buffalo. It was huge in size and was a little dry but tasty. The habanero relish was really good and gave it the missing flavor. The brisket was amazing. Their BBQ sauce was very very flavorful! Overall, this place is good and I would eat there again. Their meat is very good.
Had a delicious lunch here. Great bbq coupled with an organic salad. Everything was delicious, fresh and inventive for such a small town. Great service and bootleg Grateful Dead being played in the background! High praise and a must stop.
Great food!. We were here on the Sunday night of a holiday weekend. We got there just in time as this place is tiny and filled up quickly with resort goers. The service was friendly, but a little slow. The food was worth the wait! Great ribs, and I’m pretty hard to impress in the rib department. The catfish po’boy was fantastic. They have a good beer selection And you leave stuffed with leftovers to take home.
Fun place. Great service and food. Try the hush puppies and ribs. Played a lot of Dead music.
The chili was awful! And the fish was no better! The nachos were good if you don’t like your cheese melted.
