Not so great. My family and I ate at Famous Dave’s in Bellevue, NE last night. We each had an different menu item. We ordered Onion Strings, which were gritty, as if the grease needed to be changed in the fryer. I ordered Cod Strips which were extremely overcooked, tasted burnt and had that same gritty texture as the onion strings. My son ordered a brisket sandwich which was also overcooked. Everything else was ok, but not great. We have had great food there in the past, but this time, not so much. Not sure we will go back to that location again.

Consistent quality BBQ. I’ve always enjoyed my visits to Famous Daves and tonight was no exception. Even though Famous Dave’s is a multi-state chain, they put out consistently high quality food. Tonight I had the brisket and sausage sandwich topped with pickles. Meat was tasty and juicy. Good sandwich. What I really enjoyed was the side order of Mac n Cheese. I get this every visit. I don’t usually get excited about side dishes but this is truly special. Four cheeses, corn kernels, jalapenos. Spicy kick, rich cheesy sauce—I would have this as my main dish if they had an entree size portion. Even the corn kernels add an extra degree of interest. The homemade potato chips are excellent as well.
Ribs, ribs, ribs!. We love Famous Dave’s bbq ribs! This particular location’s ribs are always fall of the bone tender and have just the right amount of smoked/bbq sauce mix. There are a few waitresses that are on a first name basis with us because we have become regulars. So good, we can’t stay away!
AWESOME Ribs!. Love the Ribs at Famous Dave’s!…The cornbread muffins, and variety of excellent sauces keep me coming back! I visit the Bellevue location, as well as the others in Omaha frequently, and have always had hot, fresh food, and good service.
YUCK!. I cannot believe the Amarillo went out of business and this crap is still around.
Downward Spiral. The first time I was treated to this restaurant I was in heaven. The food was absolutely delicious – the different sauces, mostly great… .the portions were excellent and the service was the best I had received. That was four years ago…. since then I have come here about four or five times, each time the service, portions and quality have been slacking until this last time – prices were higher, we got barely any food…. and it was some of the worst BBQ i’ve ever eaten. I love famous daves, I was a huge fan… but perhaps this economy has been hell on the branch in bellevue – Not sure.
