Absolutely the best Sushi in Omaha, maybe the Midwest! This place is amazing and service is fantastic as well. My daughter and I share the Sushi for Two, and my husband gets the Sesame Chicken. We literally crave this place and have to go. The sake martinis are fabulous as well. So glad they decided to open in Bellevue!!
It’s not often I give out perfect scores, but this place is the best. From the sushi to curry the flavors are perfect. Please check out this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Great service too. Lunch was a full house so I’m sure at dinner time you will run into a wait….but it will be worth it!
Umami is great. They have the best sushi I’ve ever eaten. Seriously. My wife travels to the West Coast regularly and says Umami is the only place in Omaha that compares to the high price sushi she’s accustomed to eating. We ordered four house rolls and each one was unique and flavorful while maintaining a simple appearance. I think my favorite was the Manhattan roll which has the perfect punch of wasabi without overpowering the delicate tuna and salmon flavor.The prices were appropriate and the ambiance was casual without feeling cheap. The only thing holding me back from putting out a 5 rating was the hiccup in service. The place gets crazy busy after 6pm and the servers get a little behind. I’ll tolerate their speed as long as the chefs deliver the goods consistently.
Best quality, best staff, best in Omaha for Sushi. Period. The care and attention put toward every element is noticably elevated at Umami. Seasonal fish and seafood is flown in weekly, and the menu is always changing to reflect that. Chef and his team are gracious hosts, and offer a warm and friendly environment to enjoy your meal. Highly recommend.
Went here for lunch, sat at the bar, and chose the roll special. It was delicious. Excited to return for dinner and some of the house special rolls, sushi & sashimi. Lived in Japan for three years and this place is comparable. I’m amazed that such a renowned chef is right around the corner. This place is the real deal. My highest recommendation.
Came to Umami on opening night! It was busy and they were a little understaffed but, the wait was worth it. I ordered the Rainbow roll (pictured) which was crabmeat cucumber and avacado wrapped in avocado and raw fish. It was delicious and really fresh!The other was the Dynamite roll (pictured) which is salmon, crabmeat, cream cheese, deep fried with spicy sauce!We also had Chicken Yakitori! So yummy.We ordered edemame as an appetizer.Once they get the staff support and hang of things this place will be amazing!! We will definitely be back!
