First time at Hiro 88, my friends told me about reverse happy hour. I had never been to sushi bar before so I went crazy and ordered a lot of things. I had an order of crab rangoon -probably the best Ive ever had flavor wise. I cant recall what rolls I except for the California roll and they knocked it out of the park! I was disappointed that they had no non-alcoholic specialty drinks.

We prefer the hiro in west Omaha better than the old market. Food was better prepared and waitstaff were more attentive. Nothing terrible with the old market just wouldn’t head back with two hiro 88s in town.

Hiro 88 has some delicious dishes. The atmosphere is great, especially when you are seated with a view of the people in downtown Omaha. The service has a tendency to be less than ideal.

The cooks here are either inept or lazy, and I don’t know which is worse. When I asked the waitress about ingredients related to a food allergy she said she checked with the kitchen and I was given the all clear for the meal I ordered. Sure enough, I became violently ill. I wasn’t asking for special accommodations – just an honest ingredient list. They lied so now I’m suffering. To add insult to injury my lunch bill was $18 w/o a drink and my companion’s was $26 w/o a drink. At that price they should be accountable for what they serve you.

Best Sushi in Omaha. My wife and I have tried multiple sushi places in Omaha and this one is by far our favorite. The atmosphere was modern and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and the sushi was terrific. We tried red snapper and salmon nigiri along with a spicy tuna roll and all were delicious. We were so pleased we ordered more nigiri, this time yellowtail and flying fish roe (both were just as delicious). We moved here from Salt Lake City a year ago and had found a few sushi places that were good when we really needed a sushi fix but this is the first time we found one that we would actually crave and seek out.

Say this for multiple reasons. 1st the sushi is okay. We had a decent meal, but it’s no where near the best I’ve ever had. Secondly, we dealt with a very rude manager who was unwilling to accept our groupon. Lastly, there is much better sushi place located a very short walking distance from the location we were at downtown. It’s called Blue and the many times we’ve been there we have always had great food and never a bad experience.06 Mar, 2014I say this for multiple reasons. 1st the sushi is okay.
