Went here for dinner while in town on business, just wandered in from the old market area. This place was delightful… with little pretense, a simple menu, and casual atmosphere.I really enjoyed this place…. a lot. They have a simple, more European fare. Bread and butter plate, wine, cheese and meat plates. Don’t come here if your in the mood for Dennys or Applebees. Do come here to chat, nosh, and savor the flavors.
I’ve been coming here for years. It nice simple French fare at reasonable prices. Local honest food. The front seems to be a wine shop and bar. There’s a cook behind the bar with a small oven and limited space. You only realize after going down to the restroom that there is a full kitchen down stairs that they pre prep the food in during the day.
I visited La Buvette for lunch and had a great experiece. The waiter was attentive but not hovering. I enjoyed their borscht, which was fresh and warm, and their La Buvette salad, which also was fresh and perfectly lightly dressed. The breads served alongside were very good and a dry rose wine on the menu was a perfect accomapnimnet. Along with the bistro is a deli that has a great selection of cheese, meats and wines.
Every time I go here, I feel at home. The atmosphere is wonderful, the wine selection is great, and the food always delivers. This time I had braised lentils with garlic sausage; it was simple and yummy!!
Worst experience I have had at a resturant. The service was very long the wait staff was rude and I observed people walking out with beer not concled … IWill not be back even if this establishment is a party of the old market . I have many friends that have business in the old market and would not let there staff be disrespectful . And to top it off I told the two servers how I felt and they were rude to another level . Sham on them . I hope the owners see this review because I don’t believe this is how things or people are treated when they are there.

Unbelievable Stuck Up Wait Staff. Want a taste of bad service – go to La Buvette. Even when during the middle of the afternoon the waiters had time to chitchat with other customers and totally disregard waiting customers. All I wanted to do was give them my money. Awful. Awful. Awful. I’ll be sure to let my friends know all about my date at La Bouvette. Spend your money elsewhere.
