Amazing! The only sushi restaurant in Omaha with a certified sushi master! The sushi is amazing, and the service is great. It’s a dive, but it’s worth it. Deliciously wonderful. My favorite sushi place.

Great sushi!. The service was excellent and patient. They had a $12 all you can eat sushi. It is a big kids dream. All food made to order and tastes great! Of course, anything deep fried is excellent, however, I had the spring rolls (included in the meal) which were very good considering they are appetizers. The rice was the right consistency around the sushi which when it’s all you can eat is important. I have no complaints. They were busy but were still attentive and always willing to explain any questions. I’m from KC but will come here anytime I’m in town.

My Sushi Spot!. This establishment now holds my title–Best Sushi in Town.I’ll make this review quick. Their interior is not as fancy or modern as their near-by competitors but I don’t care. I come here whenever I’m craving the best sushi a local restaurant can deliver. There is a near-by place which offers more for less, but I never walked away from here unhappy. Every item I ordered was always flawless.Oh yeah…you have to try their white tuna nigiri too. Enjoy!

Not impressed. I took my wife here for dinner last night. The atmosphere is terrible, it’s uninviting and boring. The service wasn’t good, our waiter didn’t even make it back to our table to refill our drinks, which is especially bad considering there were only a handful of people there. The prices were high and the sushi was subpar at best, I made the comment to my wife that I’ve better sushi from Bakers grocery. I definitely won’t be returning.

Dog Eared Dining. It had been years since my last dining experience at Matsu Sushi, and I frankly could not recall anything about it. So it was time for a revisit. We stopped in for a Friday night dinner, and found the place fairly busy, especially at the sushi bar.Our server was friendly, but must have been a vegetarian, as she couldn’t offer us much in the way of suggestions, other than the vegetarian items. We found the food rather uneven in quality. The miso soup was absolutely excellent. On the other hand, my friend ordered the hot &sour soup, and they brought it to her cold! The calamari was just okay. But the chicken teriyaki bento box with sushi was enormous, and overall pretty good. The shrimp Yaki Soba, though, was poorly executed, and the shrimp were very, very overcooked. Our two sushi orders – the spicy scallop roll and the shrimp and mango roll – were really ho-hum in both appearance and taste. Perhaps we just picked the wrong items to order. The atmosphere reminds me of a well worn book. You could tell that when the place first opened it was beautiful, stylish in a modern sort of way. But now it just looks tired, and in need of a total cleaning and refreshening. And the two waiters we encountered, while friendly, were dressed rather sloppily. Still, the place was busy, with a heavy presence of 20-somethings.Matsu isn’t bad. If you don’t feel like dressing up, and know what is good to order, you might have a good time. There are several much better sushi restaurants within walking distance, however, so based upon the pervasive inconsistencies I cannot recommend it.Food: B-Service: B+Atmosphere: B-Value: B

Never go back. Had to ask for every single thing. the sushi is subpar at best. no atmosphere whatsoever, There was a mixup on our bill and the server wasnt getting it. so we asked for a manager. Manager came over and was confrontational and unwilling to even listen to us. Very amateur and do not see why anyone would want to go to this place. I work in the customer service industry and appreciate good service and really despise terrible service. and this was just that. terrible service and subpar food……ENJOY!!

Excellence.. I have had sushi in places all over the world. Heck. I have even had it in some of the best restaurants in Japan, but this is easily one of the top three sushi restaurants that I have ever eaten at (I’m talking about in the entire world.) And it isn’t because it is the freshest fish, or the finest dining experience, but the thing that is so absolutely charming about this place is that it really doesn’t try to be. Yeah, it isn’t as fancy as Blue or even Wasabi, but for the money you spend, you get a good deal of food. The new wait staff is not as good as the older ones were, but I’ll overlook it for my favorite Salmon roll in the world.
