Spent our last night in Omaha here. The weather was perfect for patio dining. Checked in on yelp and got 3 free oysters! The hush puppies were amazing. We were shocked how much the jalapeno jelly went so well with them. They are one of the menus must have items. I had never had fish tacos before but decided to outside the box and order the mahi mahi tacos. I only could eat one (I’d had oysters and some hush puppies) but it was amazing. Terry had the southwestern tilapia. That, too, was very good. Plank is an excellent choice for seafood and for a relaxing dinner in the Market of Omaha.
We went during the recent February heat wave. They had run out of a few things but the hostess was proactive in telling us when we arrived rather than letting us be seated in case we’d rather eat somewhere else. I ordered the fish and chips which were delicious. They were served with a small side of cole slaw. Their cole slaw is more savory than sweet but still good. My order also came with a bit of aoli sauce. Yummo. Also- the iced tea is brewed. Very important.
Nice ambiance, friendly service, great menu. Loved the house made blackberry lemonade. I ordered the grouper – the plate was beautiful, and the accompanying asparagus, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes were great. However, the fish itself was a bit chewy. busyfoodie.wordpress.com
Flagship delivers again! Already a huge fan of their other concept restaurants: Blue, Roja, and Blatt, I was again impressed by Plank. Had a quick stop in for lunch and service was fast polite and professional. The lobster bisque was the best I’d ever had. I had the diver scallop entree which came with succulent pork belly and delicious carrot pure
Amazing. Every dish was excellent. I’m going to be dreaming about the scallops…We had a dozen Bluepoints oysters (tender, buttery and briny!), a cup of gumbo (good rue with lots of meat), smoked salmon crostini (crisp baguette but doesn’t cut your mouth and full of goodness like egg, capers and onion), scallops with pork, kale and rice (I will be dreaming about these…seriously) and banana foster bread pudding (I’m a bread pudding snob and it was perfect). Our meal before tip was $65.I will be coming back!
Great service, and a very clean restaurant. The food was nothing to brag about; I had the chowder and lobster roll. You can only try so much at one time, but there are several items I would like to give a try. Nice atmosphere for some patio drinks.
Had the Gulf Shrimp en brochette, bacon wrapped with jalapeo and jack cheese. Fantastic!!!!! Wonderful flavors. Very good service and reasonable prices.
