In da toilet, yo!. This restaurant had slipped from the surface into the toilet bowl. I had eaten here 3 times before, about a year ago. Always liked it. Ate here 2 weeks ago and it was just horrible. Food was not fresh, plating was sloppy, and staff was obnoxious. Time to return to Saigon on Center st.
Food did not appear fresh.. I had the springs rolls and saw dark spots in them. When looking at it closely it was the bean sprouts with blackened ends on them . When I expressed my concern I was told that was normal ,they sold quickly and well it was produce. Then something about they blanch them, Unless it was soggy I should just eat it. When I left it on my plate I was given a new one along with a plate of bean sprouts and the blanched bean sprouts with blackened ends. This was extermely unappetizing and I suspect made from not the freshest of bean sprouts. The first time we ate at this place they stressed how they used the freshest of ingredients. Have they changed management?
One of the best in Omaha. Wonderful food and service! Try the clay pot dishes, you won’t regret it!
I’ve been to Saigon Surface twice now, and I loved it both times, but things changed. I ordered the Drunken Chicken both times and I really liked it. The first time, the chicken pieces were huge and you needed a knife to cut the chicken, but you aren’t given a knife. So you had to eat the chicken by taking bites out of it. The sauce was excellent. It was served in a bowl and you just wanted to let the rice get drenched in the sauce and enjoy every bit of it! The second time, the chicken pieces were cut in half, the meal was served on a plate and there didn’t seem to be as much sauce. Give me the first way of serving it and I will have it again.
Very modern place. It was okay. The service was excellent. I wouldn’t bring my family in though. This place doesn’t seem kid friendly. The food was decent. I have had better pho.
Amazing Food!. I have actually had dreams about the food at Saigon Surface! Honestly! Doen’t let the name scare you – its fresh – healthy and amazing!
Chic and tasty!
