This is your typical classic old school Diner. Not for everyone, but personally I really enjoy it. Walk in and seat yourself at one of the booths or belly up to the counter. My Server was sitting at the counter when I walked in appearing to have just completed rolling some silverware for her shift. She made no immediate moves as I selected a seat at the end, when I heard her voice ask me if I would like some coffee. Not being a coffee drinker, I answered that I would like a breakfast tea. I helped myself to the menu strategically placed in front of me. A lot of nice traditional breakfast options, and some not so traditional. Being my first visit, I played it safe and ordered a personal breakfast favorite, The Eggs Benedict. Good choice, she responded, and recommended the potatoes as my side versus the hash browns. Potatoes are made fresh every day whereas the hash browns are frozen out of a box. I appreciated the candor, and proved to be spot on. Additionally, the Eggs Benedict were prepared very well, and came with a couple of asparagus (slightly over cooked), and a nice touch. Overall, the pricing and quality matched up. Needless to say, this is a place that is exactly as it appears. Not fancy, but if you are hungry, a good choice. A Winner for me!
The Philly Steak sandwich is delicious, but the wait time for food and to pay the bill was a little lengthy. The Diner has a cute American style trailer look.
My first visit here and it will not be my last. My visit was absolutely perfect from the food to the very friendly waitress. I came with a friend for breakfast. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast. The chicken fried steak was very good. The only suggestion I have for the place is to make them a little more crispy. And this is really nitpicking, because everything else was very good. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly and I loved my hash browns. I opted for a pancake instead of toast and was happy with my choice. My friend had a ham and cheese omelet that he devoured, it was huge. We shared a side order of the bacon and we both loved the thick maple coated strips. We also shared a bowl of the chili. It was some of the best I have ever had, thick, flavorful and just spicy enough to wake up your taste buds without burning them off. We both said that we would be back soon to try some more of the items on the menu. This place pulls into my #5 best place in Omaha for breakfast list. 1. 11- Worth Caf2. Shirley’sDiner 3. Best Chili in town! I spent two years testing different chili’s. I really liked it so I tried to find better. Im talking allot of Chili. I dream about this place sometimes.
I had the absolute pleasure of stopping into this unique little diner in the Old Market district last time I went through Omaha, and man, was it ever good! I ordered the Spanish omelet, loaded with cheese, peppers and chorizo sausage, with hashbrowns, toast and a coffee. It was quite possibly one of the best omelets I have had in a long while, and was super filling (I didn’t eat anything for the rest of the day)! If you find yourself in the Old Market area and are looking for a cheap and tasty meal option, I would highly recommend The Diner for it’s great food, as well as the fast and friendly service!
Good food, fast service.. Came in on a Sunday morning and they were very busy. Its a smaller place, so we had to wait a little bit, but that’s a given anywhere you go on a Sunday morning in Omaha breakfast joints. Once we got seated, the service was good and our food came out fast. The food was good enough, average but nice diner feel.
Fantastic place! Friendly, great food. Sometimes busy though so think ahead!
