Eloquent, fun old market atmosphere. A couple of TVs to satisfy football fan husbands. While I understand fresh, well prepared food comes at a price, I can not get over the skimpy portion sizes. Deviled eggs: 1.5 eggs for $9. Needed two orders so the six of us could enjoy one half. That’s $18 for the 3 total eggs. $55 for surf and turf. The lobster was maybe 1/4 a tail. Literally two bites. Food was amazing. The Market house needs to be a bit more generous with the portions.
The best new restaurant in Omaha hands down. So much detail and thought went into this place that you leave feeling completely satisfied. The kitchen is led by an incredibly talented chef who creates dishes that people love and can relate to. Our favorites were the deviled eggs, grape must spread (but you can’t go wrong with any of them), meatballs, trout, and finally the absolutely delicious Gooey Butter Bar. This place brings such a unique flavor to Omaha and will be a staple for years to come. I can’t wait to go back!
Went to The Market House on their second night of being open because other old market mainstays were so busy with CWS crowds. The service and food were excellent for being so new, and the interior is a fresh open and pleasant change from Vivace. I am excited to try their seasonal menu as it changes and also to use their enclosed back patio once completed!
