Solid beer selection, nice outside patio, and whoever invented pizza cones deserves a Nobel Prize. My friends had the ribs and a Mediterranean flatbread and said they were good as well.

Friendly staff, good local-to -Nebraska mix of Libation. I didn’t eat the food, but the menu looked agreeable. Brand new place, ready to be made into a local favorite. I will surely return when I travel to Omaha again. The Brick and TV combo make it a bit too modern for my taste, but the lighting adds to the atmosphere. Imagine a Champps without the measured pours and corporate crocodile smiles. Industrial/functional apparatuses hang from the unfinished ceiling, but do not scream of laziness. It’s all organized. A bit more identity would do this place a solid favor, but I can forgive this since, as of this review, it’s 2 weeks old.
Great New Place in North Downtown! Love The Atmosphere, Tap Selection, and Beer Garden!. Preliminary review because I haven’t had the food yet, but visited last night for the first time and loved it! TSR is in a great location for a number of downtown events. It’s located just a few blocks west of TD Ameritrade Park (College World Series), CenturyLink Center, and the Slowdown. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on beer selection. Speaking of beer selection, they have a great variety of tap beers to choose from! It also looked as though they had a great selection of hard alcohol. The atmosphere is perfect for the up and coming North Downtown area. Very modern with its brick feel. It was also cool to see some live music going on without having to yell to talk to the person next to me. Further more, their patio/beer garden is great. Love the touch with the large spin wheel style tables. Can easily sit 6-7 people around one or stand 10+. That will make a great spot for the College World Series during the day. It was also nice that they had a set of bag boards out to play on. For a Thursday night with perfect weather, I was thoroughly impressed with The Session Room, particularly for their atmosphere, live music, beer selection, and beer garden. Will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone. Can’t wait to try their food next! Just from looking at the menu, things look great.
Don’t go here for the food. After seeing the construction on this place for several months, I was pretty excited when it finally opened. There really aren’t many other restaurants in north downtown, so I thought that this would be a welcome addition. We went on a weeknight the first week that it opened, and it was pretty empty, which was nice. The service was good, and food and drinks came out quickly. The atmosphere inside is neat, as it preserves the feel of the old building it’s in while still feeling like a modern bar.We had high hopes when we got there, but then we started into our appetizer. We had the pork rhine nachos, which I thought would be interesting, but they turned out to be pretty bland and tough to eat. For our meals, I had the rib tips and my wife had a pizza cone. The ribs were really tough and just didn’t taste great, and the pizza cone, while an interesting concept (a slice of pizza rolled into the shape of an ice cream cone) tasted like a piece of frozen pizza from the grocery store.Overall, I was looking forward to a decent restaurant opening in north downtown, but it would seem that The Session Room really only caters to people who come to drink, not to have a meal. My recommendation would be to come here only if you want to get drinks because there are so many other places where you can get better food for the same price.
