Hadn’t tried Wheatfield’s for anything other than breakfast, but was in the mood for a good sandwich while I was down in the old market. Had the Chicken Salad Sandwich and was impressed. Not all Chicken Salad Sandwiches are created equal, that much was obvious ok this trip. The fries were also better than I had expected. That being said, I rated it a bit lower because I paid over $10 for a sandwich w/fries, and the service wasn’t very good. We may not come back often for lunch, but their breakfast will continue to draw us in!

Should not take reservations if they have no intention of honoring them…. We ate there once and liked the food and variety on the menu. We thought we would eat there again. We were going to a show so we made reservations to make sure there was plenty of time to eat. We traveled 60 miles to get there. We were there before our reservation time but waited an additional half an hour and still were not seated. We asked one host and he assured us since we had an R next to our name we would be seated next. Another hostess came and seated several groups before us. We asked why we were not next and she said she just got there and was not aware we had a reservation. I pointed out the R by our name and explained what the last host said and she claimed she did not notice it. Why take reservations if they are not going to honor them? She tried to make us feel it was our fault not hers. We will never eat there again. Why take reservations if they do not honor them. We were added to the bottom of the list and tossed aside. The manager came to see what was going on but slinked off to the back when she saw we were not happy. Lousy service!! Lousy customer relations! Liars… We were not able to eat there because we ran out of time. We went to subway next door. At least they acted happy to have customers. We ended up making the show in time even though we wasted so much time at Wheatfields.
SO DISAPPOINTING!!!. I ordered the veggie scrambler with toast. It was so gross!! The toast was cold, dry and seemed like it had been sitting out all morning. My egg scrambler was cold, greasy and bland. I thought about sending it back, but the service was so slow that I was afraid it would take too long. I thought everything on the menu was over priced. This was my third time and worse than ever. I won’t go back!
I’m shocked this place is rated so low!!! I went there this morning and had an excellent eggs Benedict with potatoes and it was great!!! The H-sauce was spot on and the potatoes were very well prepared with an excellent layer of cheese on top! The service was consistent too! We got a cinnamon bun for the table and while it wasn’t the best I’ve had, it was delicious. I recommend this place and will go back!
Really Disappointed. My family and I have been going to Wheatfields for years but today may have been my last time. Today I was showing my friend from out of town all of the awesome places in the old market and took him to wheatfields on our way around. I bought a piece of cake and he got a quiche both to go but I needed to use the restroom so he sat at one of the tables to wait. During the time I was gone someone kindly approached him and asked if he would like his quiche warmed which he agreed to. Promptly ater he was told that he could not eat it there because the sitting area was for other customers (extremely rudely) although there was only one family in the whole place. The other server returned and reported she was yelled at for giving him this service while he waited. I am beyond speechless at this experience and am so ashamed to have taken my guest there. We tipped of course because of the waitress’ helpfullness but I will not be returning to the express location because of this embarrassing incident. I have written positive reviews in the past for other locations and would not usually leave a bad review but I honestly do not want anyone else to experience this. Wheatfields has a great bakery but this location is terrible DO NOT GO HERE!
Exceptional service. I made a take out order today (12/10/14) and asked for 2 zebra brownies. When I got there to pick up my very delicious food, I was told that they were out of the brownies. . But they had them in their sample plate so the extremely nice gentleman helping me put some samples in with my order. I wish I had gotten his name, this was so thoughtful. It was around 3:30, we ordered a pot roast wrap and chicken tenders.. He was very helpful, you’re lucky to have such an employee.
